http://www.budgetgolf.com/Datrek-Go-Lite-14-Stand-Bag.html?sku=781222330754 I'm looking to get a new bag for this year, as my Wal-Mart bag will no longer suffice... I've been looking into bags with 14-way tops, (Ogio Grom, Sun Mountain Four-5, et al)... I really don't want to pay $250 for a new bag... So I found this Datrek Go-Lite 14 bag on budgetgolf for $70... Has anyone had any experience with this bag and/or brand? Is this gonna fall apart on me in two years and I'll need a new bag all over again... I typically walk when I play, but I like the idea that it is a hybrid bag (plus I'm getting a push-cart but that is a different thread entirely)

I have a DaTrek.  It's light, compact and sturdy.  Mine only has two zippered pockets, kind of sparse, but compact.

When you buy a walking cart make sure to have your bag with you.  Many carts don't hold bags with stands very well.  Mine holds a bag with a stand well, it's a Caddytek.

I've never owned one, but the small golf store that I go to sells them and thinks very highly of them.  The owners feel they give you a lot of value for the money and they will hold up almost as long as the better name bags.

The only thing that I didn't like about the Datrek bags I looked at in the store is that the 14 way divider is only at the top, it's not a full sleeve like the more expensive bags so the clubs can rub and get entangled below the divider.

Worth a gamble for $70, I'd say.  I've gone through several stand bags that didn't hold up well.  Usually the legs give out first.  Just bought a Nike Air Sport today because I had $125 in gift cards to redeem at Sports Authority.  If you buy the bag, write a review.  I'd like to know for future reference.

Actually saw these at my local PGA Superstore today. They seem nice and worth the $70 online price (store price was $130).  Like the full-length 14-way dividers.  Double shoulder strap seemed very basic though.  Leg system is comparable to other stand bags. Decent amount/size pockets.

The nicest 14-divider bag that I saw today was the Sun Mountain Four 5.  I would never spend $230 for that bag though, knowing very well that something will break right after the warranty expires, given my experience with stand bags.

I've had my Datrek lite rider cart bag for two years. I bought black but I wish I bought Seahawks colors. ;-) It has 14 dividers that go all the way down and you can get it for $159. Several zippered compartments.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
