I can swing at full speed in both my family and living room with all my clubs including driver. Instead of foam balls which can knock out frames etc. of walls, I use mini paper Dixie cups using the bottom of the cup as the hit surface. They don't fly too far, you can hit one cup up to 15 times before you obliterate it.

Best part is the make a very satisfying 'pop' when hit squarely around the entire circumference and also collapses evenly. It also gives a better 'compression' feeling than plastic or foam balls. This is instant feedback of how square your impact is. Check out the pics. The one on the right was hit 4 times. Sorry about the hazy quality, smartphone camera lens beat up.

Totally disagree. @snell89 , check out the 5sk thread that Iacas linked.

I'm not exactly sure to what you are disagreeing with, here. @Spitfisher didn't actually state what the benefits actually are. Making a bunch of swings, ball or not, even without the intent of changing the picture, will still be good to keep your golf muscles loose. It's worse to sit around for months and then go out on the first semi-decent (but still cold) day to the range and hit a bucket of balls.

Unless you're making 100 bad swings that are just reinforcing a fault. If you have some way of monitoring what you are doing then I can see potential benefit, but the 100 full speed practice swings a day as a cure-all sounds like horse hockey to me.

Ah, ok. I didn't read it as being a cure-all. On that front, I completely agree with you. I simply read it as making swings vs not making swings and I think the former is better than the latter. Although the argument can be made that drill swings should be properly monitored, too, to make sure the drill is being done correctly.
