Dropped my new 8 iron at the range tonight by accident and managed to get a couple of small dings on the toe face and sole of the club and a couple of very tiny dings on the shaft. There are no dents or gouges but will this affect the club? Hate to think I've damaged it already.

Thanks, I thought for a second I had damaged the club. Guess they'll get a lot worse over the next few years! You can feel the ding with your finger but it's not a proper dent.

Should not affect playability in the slightest.

You'll probably get worse ones from general wear and tear

I agree.  Anything that repeatedly comes into forcible contact with the ground is going to get dinged up.  To the OP, those scratches/nicks won't affect performance in any way.
