Hard to believe Spieth is a few holes away from going into the last round with a realistic shot at getting the third leg of the slam. I truly thought the pressure was just too much for him and the unfamiliarity with this course would keep him away from the top.

Spieth found the Valley of Sin. I don't think he'll be top-two at the end of the day with par or worse on the 18th.

Dunne has an absolutely gorgeous swing. Also, how awesome would it be if Padraig won? Three time open champ, four majors overall. Quite a career.

He'll be top 5. 16 and 17 playing tough today so you could see a little back up there. I think lead will be around 12 or 13 at day's end, depending on what Willett and Day do. Kids in great shape though going into tomorrow.

No, I don't think so.

Has there ever been an amateur in the last flight (group) of a major.. in modern golf that is?

How about Bobby Jones?

Jim Simons led after 54 holes at the 1971 U.S. Open. He shot 76 for the final round and finished fifth.

I don't know if he has a problem with nerves.. he's had a heck of a lot of camera attention lately and it sure didn't seem to affect his game.. LOVE to see him hold it together tomorrow

I'd say that birdie putt on 18 exposed some nerves. That wasn't even close. Oosthuizen birdies to claim the clubhouse lead alongside Dunne. They'll be playing together in the final group unless someone gets to 13-under.

Oh boy. .. I'm going to enjoy tomorrow's golf. My two favourite players Jason and Louis together with an amateur Paul Dunne at the top.. I don't think many golfers will forget that kids name in a hurry

DJ finally gets off the schneid with a birdie at 15. He can still win this.
