See Handicap Manual 5-2g. Posting a Score from an Unrated Set of Tees on a Rated Course

This wasn't an unrated set of tees.  This was "Temporary Tees".  It's covered in Handicap Manual Decisions 5.1a/3.  It's scored as a hole not played, par plus any handicapped strokes for the hole as mentioned above.

There were five temporary tees for the 18 holes. It looks like they may rotate this and do them all and it will take weeks. I can see why they're doing 5 at a time, that still leaves 13 holes with regular tees so one can post. Bummer as I play this course pretty much once or twice a week. My score went from 10 over to 12 over when I applied the rule from Decision 5.1a/3.

The strangest one is where they just moved the tee area horizontally which maintained the same distance as the regular tee area but put the greenside bunker right in line with the flag.  I birdied it but per the temporary tee rule had to post as a par (the hole is the 18th handicap hole).

5.1a/3 is really dealing with a temp green when it mentions giving yourself par plus strokes.  As Asheville mentioned 5-2g is for an unrated tee, (temporary tee).  Just measure (estimate) distance from nearest rated tee, or where the old tee was, to where the temp tee is.  Then use the table.

I'm reading it as also applying to temporary tees, it specifically uses those words.  And because of that, the rules are making a distinction between temporary tees (decision 5-1a/3) and unrated tees (section 5-2g). Even though they only use the words temporary green in the answer, the title of the section specifies that the answer also applies to temporary tees.  imo

5-1a/3. Returning Scores for Handicap Purposes While Playing on Temporary Greens or Tees

Q: May a club accept scores for handicap purposes if temporary greens or tees are being used?

A: Yes. If the Rules of Golf can be followed during the reconstruction period, scores should be posted. The club must contact its authorized golf association for advice regarding its specific situation. If a temporary green (not an alternate permanent green) is played, the recommendation of the authorized golf association may be for the club to advise players to post par plus any handicap strokes the player is entitled to receive on that hole.

You are using the pronoun we...

The way @DaveP043 suggested or the way you suggested?

There hasn't been consensus in this thread and decision 5-1a/3 seems very clear cut and specific to temporary tees but is in conflict with your determination to use 5-2g.  5-2g is about changing values to the appropriate gender when there isn't a rating for that gender at that tee area.  That is an unrated set of tees per the definition given at 5-2g.  That is different than a temporary tee area. imo

    • Played Sunday and implemented the Mayo spinner. Hit my second shot long and left on three to a bare lie. I have seen this shot to a tucked pin but I don’t swing across it enough and hit it too far with a ton of spin but it rolled into the bunker. I pulled my approach short and left on ten to a horrible lie with about 3’ of rise to a tucked pin maybe 5’ on the green. Ball is in a damp lie with debris behind and in front of the ball. Hit it to 3.5’ but horseshoed the putt around the right edge, which was a common miss. I hooked my tee shot into an unplayable lie in the hazard on the left side of the par 5 16th. Hit a great recovery that rolled to about 45 yards short of the back right pin. Hit the spinner over a bumpy green that rolled just over the ridge to 3’. Sank the straight 2.5’ putt. Felt like I had good control of these shots!
