I've been playing my Ping i15 (9.0 degrees, UST Mamiya S shaft) for going on 6 years now, and it's been a great club.  I'm thinking of upgrading to newer technology, and would love some feedback/input on possible shaft/head combinations that I might be looking for.

Swing speed is 110-115 mph, "typical" carry currently is about 250 yds.  I am looking for something low spin, medium/high trajectory. I can hit just about any club, but aesthetically gravitate to Titleist and Ping.

I've never done any type of shaft upgrade when purchasing, and really fell into the i15 by accident.  I was fitted at Callaway in Carlsbad several years ago, and simply selected the most attractive "lower spin" driver available at the time.

Some of you players out there have any suggestions?  Thanks!

I'm in a similar situation, my driver is 5 years old, a Titleist 910D3 (9.5 degrees with the Diamana Ka'ili S shaft).  The thing is, I feel really comfortable with it, I hit a lot of fairways with a carry of 240 or so, and I'm not sure I want to change anything.  The idea of spending $400 for 5 or 10 yards more isn't too appealing, and I'll be really surprised if much more than that is likely.  Having said that, I'll be at the Ping HQ in a week, so my mind might be changed.

the only thing wrong with this car is the nut behind the wheel.

You could try to find a TaylorMade R1 -- fairly inexpensive and a driver for a high speed guy with some forgiveness (lofts is 8.5-12.5, adjustable).

Yes, if I carried 250 and hit a lot of fairways I wouldn't change a thing!

As I have written on other threads, I just bought an old Cobra S3 driver (still in the original wrappings) which has to be six years old to match a Cobra S3 3W that I have played for years and hit the 'you know what' out of. This driver is before the Amp Cell, Bio Cell, and Fly-Z, I love the club and like the S3 3W hit the hell of. Just goes to show that "newer" technology may not always be the answer

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
