So, the week of November 16 I'm going to Vegas for the first time ever. While there I'm hoping to get in at least a few rounds of golf as long as the weather cooperates. So, I'd like to know if anyone has any recommendations for places to go. Please try to keep the cost for the rounds reasonable for someone who doesn't make tons of money. I will be playing at least one round on the course where my Aunt lives, I believe it's called SouthShore Golf club and that's going to end up being pretty expensive for me. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to suggest! Thanks in advance.

I was in Vegas during June this year.

I stayed 3 nights and played at Painted Desert and the Paillute Wolf Course, both courses were reasonably priced, around 70 bucks I think.

Paillute has another two courses which also look very nice.

I stayed at the New York New York hotel,Paillute was about 45 min drive and Painted desert was about 30 min drive.

Both courses were easy to find and I booked both tee times online.

Cheers.

I second the Paiute golf courses. Great courses. Also, Bears Best has good views. Badlands is a fun course. And in Henderson is the Revere, two courses, Lexington probably the nicest of the two. Lots of choices. For deals look at groupgolfer and dealcaddy.com. I've gotten decent deals through them. Good luck!

All the Pauite courses are great,  I also played Rhodes Ranch or desert pines once and found them both very enjoyable.  Bali High is gorgeous but IMO not worth the money.  Lot of pretty courses in vegas with the mountains in the background and lots of desert

howd you do ?

Not great, didn't get to golf much. Played the Taylormade Experience 9 hole par 3 course, 9 over there. I also played Palm Valley at Summerlin, I had 3 esc holes there and didn't even finish the last hole. Even with ESC I still shot 94 on a 69/119 course. I just had some trouble off the tee and couldn't putt worth a damn. I did not get to play my Aunt's private course as she was too busy with work, but from what I understand that course is pretty penal in that there is a lot of OB close to the fairway. To be fair though, I had some really nice shots and once I got my tee shots under control I played pretty much to my handicap.

I think I played that Taylormade Experience par 3 course on fly-in day a few years ago.    Good warm up.   Any time we can play to our hcp on an unfamiliar course is a good day ... nice !

It is a bit of a trek, but if you can make it out to Mesquite (about 90 Minutes N of Vegas), Wolf Creek is incredible.

    • Day 316 - More swings, full backswing and full finish.
    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
