I love the idea and think that time wise 15-20 minutes would be ideal.  That way you could listen to a few of them if you have the time OR you can just listen to one of them.  Also, a 15-20 minute podcast allows you to not have to wait for a portion you want to hear.  You want to hear a few things on a few topics:  you can select them out of the list and listen to them successively.

I would agree that instruction would be good.  Along with instruction perhaps discussions about the things as instructors that you see which are most common.  You could put together series sets based on handicap so that these general areas of instruction speak to groups without losing or boring other groups.  For example I may need to hear more about stance, alignment, grip, etc whereas a single digit handicap is probably more interested in topics related to course management and strategy.

A member highlight would also be pretty cool, and could be geared towards different topics and be complimentary to gear reviews as well or courses they play.

I do not know what your time that you can dedicate to the podcast is, but you could also mix up the times, so, you may in general put together 15 minute podcasts for weekday type stuff BUT have a 45 minute or hour long "weekend" segment.

Definitely need a few podcasts on "What are my chances of going pro in the next X years", they can be heavy on satire. ;)

There are a lot of ways you can go with this, and if TST decides to do one, I will listen to them.

To me, the podcasts were what initially gave this site credibility, because the participants obviously knew what they were talking about, and I could then relate that to the written content.

Please don't bother with equipment talk. It's almost never an interesting topic.

I'm interested in golf, not golf equipment. There's no shortage of places to read/find out about that.

If I want to go onto a photography site, I'm not going to be interested in podcasts/videos in the equipment sections.

I did like the summing up of hot topics, and I did enjoy the pace of the talks. upbeat, fun and progressive. :-)

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I think a podcast would be great. I'm not good with names, but off the top of my head I thought The Rub of the Green or just The Rub. Good podcasts have guests imo. Otherwise it's just the same people talking about the same stuff. Maybe sometimes the guest is a member or sometimes someone from the industry. I think 10 to 15 minutes once a week would be good.

How about a variety of golf related topics on a rotating basis, Instruction, Tour News, Forum Topics, and maybe a "Member Of The Month" or a POV of an special guest instructor.

20-30 minutes is good, most good PodCasts are about that long. Maybe once a week or so...

As for a name, I'm not that creative, " "The Pod in The Sand Trap" is as good as I can come up with.

    • Day 127: 5/2/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 6/24. Training speed was 5 mph higher than previous high, as was e-speed. Still not as high as I have done in previous programs, but just 1 mph lower. Battling through a neck issue, and possible trigger fingers. Happy with results.
    • Day 49. Played 9 from tees a bit beyond my comfort zone and was humbled. Hit a couple good shots so will take that at least.
    • +12 47, and never lost a ball or had a penalty. Got the snap hooks off the tee for the first 3 holes. So, playing the punch out game. Probably had like 20 putts. Bad short game day. The greens were weirdly firm but slow. I just don’t get spin out of the rough. I had a SW, with good height hit middle half of the green and end up almost off the back of the green. I know what I was doing with the full swing. Bad habits creeping in.
    • 9 years and counting. Lil chipped paint here and there but still going strong. Also have an 18 deg driving iron that I got a couple of years ago which is doing well too. @iacastried it and I think he liked it.
    • For PING to assemble and ship it? It's a 3H. Yea, the new club has more loft. How do you like that, 2H?
