So I got my irons re-gripped with fairly expensive Lamkin crossline full cord grips and noticed - well after the fact of course - that one of the long iron grips is twisted and stuck that way. The white vertical alignment marks are almost a 1/4 turn out of true.

It's annoying because I like to use the alignment point to position my lead hand rather than positioning off the face angle. Despite that, I can make it work as it is.

Question is would you take it back and expect the guy to re-do it? Is it even possible without destroying the grip that's on there? If not do I have a reasonable expectation of the club guy to cover the replacement grip for his error?

If you paid a professional to re-grip the clubs I doubt they would have a problem fixing this issue free of charge.

Wouldn't he have to rip the old one & replace - or can he remove & re-set it?

He could probably remove and reset it. There are special tools for that.

Good news. Thank you!

If he can't reset the grip, due to lack of tools or knowledge, it would not be unreasonable to expect him to pay for the replacement grip. You paid him to install the grips and he failed to do it properly.

Using compressed air, he could simply twist the grip to the correct position.

Otherwise, have him remove the grip and reinstall correctly.

My guess is compressed air.

I began DIY regripping. What an education. I have that twisted grip thing down pat.
