What's Trevor Immelman up to?

I see Trevor is playing in our national champs, SA Open, tomorrow. Paired with Ernie. Said in an interview that he wants to be competitive again and looking at this tournie as the start. Won it back to back in 2003/2004 I think - that's a very long time ago.

Anyone knows what he is up to tour-wise in 2016? Looks like his official website has also been closed :-(

He finished outside the top 200 on the PGA tour last season - does that mean hecan still play a few tournies?

He'll be at the Masters, at least. ;-)

just read a local article where they say he will also play the Joburg open and then a couple of the Arab tournies

Missed cut by 2 strokes in a poor field :mellow:.

Possibly gone at the game me thinks. They say he will also play next week in Joburg open. Might be time to pack it in and get a comms job or similar. He is quite a presentable and well spoken lad - there must be other opportunities out there for him?

Bit off topic but I really enjoyed watching the young SAfricans on show. Brandon Stone won in the end by two shots over Bezuidenhout. Bezuidenhout has a nice story - he was the top ranked amateur in the country a couple of years ago. Then was banned for 9 months after testing positive for beta-blockers (due to medicine taken for a severe stutter). On his comeback won the Sunshine Tour Q-school and now a second place in the SA Open. I think he is one to watch for the future ;-)

A lot of people call Immelman a fluke champion like a Ben Curtis or Shaun Micheel, but I prefer to refer to him as a very talented player whose career really was decimated by injuries and he's just never recovered. A lot of it is mental but it's a shame his career has never materialized since Augusta 2008.

      Day 97 - 2025-01-05 Showed up to something that absolutely floored me, and then was busy right through to 9:00. So, I got 5:00 in at night, at home, before bed. My rib cage hurts from a cough (ha ha, but also, f***), and I think I have a mild ear infection in my right ear. Things are just f***ing great.

      OMG Jerry Barber shot -20 back in 1960! Let's go back and time and bitch about how easy it is to play golf. My goodness, Calvin Pete shot a -21 in 1986! Wait a second, David Duval shot -26 back in 1999! Hold up, Ernie Els shot a -31 back in 2003!!!!  (all scores at The Sentry, it is a very easy golf course for PGA Tour players).  The concept that golf in the past is this protecting par or what not is just romanticized BS. Golfer's have been tearing apart golf courses for decades. Let's have a sense of perspective to base our opinions, ok?
