Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Currently playing off 11.3 (CONGU) and have a set of Ping g15's in the bag, have had for a few years, when I bought them I got the static fitting and then tweaked with a bit of dynamic fitting too, when I bought them launch monitors weren't really as popular as they are now, id never used one until a few years later. Anyway, im thinking its time for an upgrade as when I bought them originally I was playing off 17 and many moons and lessons later im down at 11 and my clubs are looking a bit dated and rusty.

Im liking the look of the new Ping g's and the AP1/AP2 (AP2 are a bit pricey to be honest). Anyone hit any of the above, im open to suggestions too! I will be getting fit for them soon.

Any advice or opinion is valued! much appreciated

I'm a big AP2 fan, but it depends on what you need.  FWIW I just looked at the Titleist website and saw that the AP2s are $43/stick more than the AP1s.  I had no idea they cost that much more.

Below is my review of the AP1. I've played AP2 for a couple of years and am switching to the AP1

I prefer the look of the ap2s and Ive read the 716 ap2s are as forgiving as the 714 ap1s. They are a bit over priced tho, seems to be a much larger price gap with titleist between models.

Why are you switching to ap1s if you don't mind me asking

I don't know where you read that but the AP1's are definitely more forgiving than the AP2's.

I play Ping i25s and got a chance to hit the G30's last year.  I loved them and have said this a few times ... if I was in the market for irons, I would have probably pulled the trigger on a set of those.  They were amazing.

I don't know about the newer G's, or Titleists either though.

    • Day 5 - 2024-10-05 Hit some somewhat soft pitching wedges. The outside and inside, particularly the outside of the left thumb where my right hand goes on it, is still pretty sore. I don't think I'll do more damage, but I'm reluctant to do too much because I don't want to compensate or alter my motion.
    • Day 156 (05 Sep 24) - Played new to me course today, it’s near our beach place and have been wanting to play it for a couple of years now.  It’s a neat Par 70 that plays just over 6k from the tips, played the whites 5,500 +/-.  Tight fairways and severely undulating greens made for some great shot strategy.  Wound up with an even 80 that included two lost ball penalties.  Putter was solid - 28 total.  Wedge play kept the pars happening - 6 of the 9 pars were up and downs.  Not bad for the first time on a new course.
