First post. Although I have been lurking and learning for a while! How many others see the pros in the same lies we face every round with the announcers saying no chance from here ; thinking i did that last week! Golf is a challenging game. That's what I love about it.  Play well and have fun! Nobody wants be around that guy having a temper tantrum.

As for temper tantrums. I have found them to be quite entertaining when viewed from a safe distance.

The meltdowns of others keep my head in a good place. It's a reminder that it's a game, a hard one, and if I can't enjoy it I ought not do it.

Entertaining or embarrassing. I chose poorly in my first year playing league at my club. Just wanting to get into it. This year hopefully will be more fun. Sounds like  my father will be my partner and i can not wish for a better season.i'll be the embarrassment. LOL

I'm just paraphrasing something I heard or read somewhere . .but golf is the only professional sport that the average guy watches and thinks "yeah, I could do that".  We don't occasionally slam-dunk basketballs or, every once in a while, toss a couple 300 lb dudes over our shoulders as we dive for a touchdown.  We do, however, occasionally hit an awesome drive or stick it close or sink a 30 foot putt, etc. 

Golf keeps giving you glimpses of greatness . .but they always remain just glimpses . .far off on the horizon, lol.
