I read a ton of golf advice all over the net. Man i like this site! However I don't come across a lot of article on course management and techniques used in course management. I read this article on another site and thought i would share it here for everyone to enjoy. It is extremely well written, let me know what you think.....I definitely think it will help my game!

thanks and happy hacking!

Sounds like the guy is repeating information that has been around for "decades" on course management. Not a bad thing.

Just from what I read in the article, I have been aiming towards safer landing areas for the past 45+ years. I think some of the old information on golf teachings  should be brought back to life for every generation of golfers. The old stuff helps explain some of the newer stuff being presented.

Welcome to the site. If you like that article, you will like this book better. I deleted your link as we don't allow links to commercial sites unless they are a sponsor.

    • Is anyone else a little concerned that the Ryder Cup has too big of an advantage for the home team? Except for Medinah, the home team has won every Ryder Cup since 2006. Is that just a fluke or is something going on there? I'm wondering if the combination of home fans plus controlling the set up makes it so the away team doesn't have much of a chance at winning, even when they're better. Rome might be different, because Italians don't really care that much of about golf. But I think it's tough to see Europe winning in the US anytime soon. Bethpage could be really ugly in 2025, both in score and in fan behavior.
    • Great pic, it's crazy how flattened the greens look when watching on TV. I have seen a couple pics similar to yours of other greens there and the undulations look so much more severe than how they appeared on TV.
    • “it's all psychological. You yell barracuda, everybody says, "Huh? What?" You yell shark, we've got a panic on our hands on the Fourth of July.” Jaws
    • Uhm… no. Just a terrible take by you here.
    • I guess there is a sort of sense of grandeur when you refer to a golf course as links. We got a local course that calls itself National Golf Links. Maybe it is because it links US 40 and I-70. The ground it sits on is just your typical Ohio farm country soil, so balls don't roll out any more than they do everywhere else.
