I've never been a breakfast eater. If I eat too early it just makes me nauseous. I have to be awake for a couple hours at least before my body is ready to process food. That said, I had heard many times that eating breakfast was supposed to "jump start" your metabolism. Not a big surprise that it's not necessarily true.

I exercise because I like to, not to get thin.

Agreed. You can get thin on diet only. Exercise just makes you feel better.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

My wife and I are on what we call a lazy ketogenic diet. When we started in Jan were both very serious.  I had gained back 20lbs of the 60 I had lost earlier in the year and she wanted to lose about 10 or 15. So at first we were super strict counting calories as well as our protein fat and carbs.

I lost 16 lbs and she lost 10 and we are maintaining by sticking to the general guide lines with carbs and proteins but not getting hung up on counting calories ans /or weighing our food.

Though I have friends that are getting similar results with different diets, this just works for us because mainly it doesn't feel like a diet any more.  I just don't eat carbs other than what's found in green and some other vegetables. But I do get to eat a lot of meat and cheese , which most diets would restrict me on.

Yeah, I tried the Tim Ferris recommended "Slow Carb" diet with mixed results.... definitely saw a couple pounds lost , but nothing major for all the effort...
