Looks like the weather in the afternoon will be much worse than in the morning. Of the leaders Luiten is the only one in the morning group today. Willett at -6 as well.

I'm pulling for Robert Rock. He is the example swing my Evolvr instructor uses most of the time.

Willett out in 29.

Luiten birdies 12 to close the gap to 3 shots.

I'm pulling for Hend now, just put a small wager on him at 14/1.

After Willett shot 3 bogeys in a row, Luiten did the same. And also in trouble on hole 18; not a good day at all.

YE Yang,Willett and Hend on -10,in the lead.   Willett went went out in 29,back in 39.

Joost needs a good one today.

Good rounds from the 2 Spaniards,Campillo and Cabrera Bello to keep them in contention at -6 and -5 respectively.

The back 9 must be playing a lot tougher,Jamie Donaldson had 4 birdies and an eagle on the front nine to pull himself back to level par but then had 2 bogies and 2 doubles to miss the cut on the back 9.

I'm enjoying this, but it could really do with a bit more pulling power. Just a shame not to see a few of the top European Tour players like Sergio or Rory not play it.

It's a good tournament to watch - there's a double bogey out there for anyone at pretty much any time. Would love to see Kaymer, Westwood or Hatton get it, but the rounds from Karlberg and Wood would deserve it.

Interesting that Poulter skipped this tourney because he thinks the greens are so typically bad....he said his putting stroke is coming around and did not want to fukk it up by playing there.......

Many years ago while on a business trip to London I got a chance to play Wentworth West - even back then in 1991 it was a tremendous course that made great use of the rolling woodlands in Surrey.

Its a bit sad that the course has now become the architectural plaything of Ernie Els and the European tour - some of the holes now resort to certain modern tricks like artificial water features or shaved greenside banks leading to hazards or chipping areas - perhaps in the next round of changes Ernie and his design elfs will come a bit more to their senses and let the design return a bit more to the features that were there in the original HS Colt design.

As far as the tournament goes, it seems like there is a real problem in terms of when to fit it in a place in the schedule where you can get the cream of the European tour to show up.  The Players Championship with its huge reward of 10 years of exemptions for the US tour makes it a bit more compelling as an event and the Nelson and Colonial and Memorial tournaments are all big events on the US tour leading up to the US Open so taking the two weeks time to travel over to England in the start of the summer is perhaps not something a lot of European pros who live in the US are willing to make.

Was exciting to see if Chris Wood was going to choke the event away but nice to see him win - he did have a great front nine but seemed on the verge of letting it get away on the back nine.

Nice to see Chris Wood win this, well done.He tends to play well in the British Open with a best T3 at Turnberry maybe this win will spur him on.

Surely another Ryder cup player.

    • I have trouble with vertigo on occasion, but have gotten nutritional and biofeedback tips to keep it at bay. Dehydration can help trigger v-like symptoms so one recommendation, along with maintaining overall hydration, is to start with 8 oz. of water early in the morning. A meta-analysis on Golf As Physical Activity indicated that golf is rated as a moderately intensive physical activity. This scientific literature review came from the University of Edinburgh. The physical activity level ties into hydration. A former university colleague was a marathon runner who had published a couple of articles on endurance training. He likewise said that golf was a moderate physical activity especially when the round stretched past  the two-hour mark. For hydration he recommended switching from water to electrolyte drink on the back nine (past two hour point of exercise) to prevent cramping. At the two-hour point of moderate activity, water starts flushing electrolytes out of the body, which can lead to fatigue and cramping. (I have had trouble with leg cramps in the past during exertion.) During a round, I start out with water on the front nine and switch to sports drink on the back nine. If the day is unusually hot, I may drink 8 oz. of Pedialite concentrate before going to the course. Maintaining overall hydration plus on-course boosters keeps me going.
    • Personally I’d try booking direct first - either via the Vidanta golf reservations number/email or through the resort concierge - especially for Christmas/New Year. Vidanta’s main courses (Greg Norman and Nicklaus designs) are popular and can book out fast this time of year, so direct often gives you the best shot at your preferred tee times.
