I may regret this, but mostly for my own self indulgence I have made a couple of attempts at creating articles relating to golf.  My purpose is mostly to put on paper in an editorial format my thoughts and understanding(s).  Many will more than likely disagree with my assessments, some may even go out of their way to rebut, or even scorn; but that is not the point, but more in the vain of my wanting to see if I can impart my understandings in a manner that is understandable by others whether or not they are in agreement. I am not so thin skinned, that any derogatory comments will bother me in the slightest and if any find them helpful, that is okay too. I might also point out that there is certainly nothing new here as the techniques are relatively basic.  In any event, here is a link to one of these articles:

Interesting . . . I sometimes post in the practice thread my random thoughts (about my practice) - figuring nobody will read it,lol.  It's helpful to organize my thoughts and, for some reason, keeping a journal or something is just way too hard for me.

I did write a book on Golf, though - here it is:

Everything I know about building the Perfect Golf Swing

The End.

I'm still working on the middle part, lol.

Thanks, it appears that you understand my motive perfectly. I have others, but this I chose as the easiest, and one that has been discussed and debated in detail in the past.  Do you have a link to your book?

EDIT.  OOPS, just got what you meant!

There is a blog area here where you'd likely get a lot more viewership of your ideas. https://thesandtrap.com/blogs/ Look around and you'll see others who publish articles from time to time as it strikes them.

I believe anyone can create their own blog here (I see the "Create Blog" button), and you can publish each of your articles as a separate blog entry.  This site gets pretty good coverage in google searches, so you'd likely get more viewership and feedback, since that's what you are looking for.

That link you posted appears so spammy with all the wacky characters that I bet a lot of folks wouldn't dare click on it. I never click on stuff like that, as a rule. But I gotta admit, I'm curious as to what you're writing about.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did the one drive link in order to not impose on people, but I see what you mean by some might think it spam (it is not).  I thought the blog area was reserved for "vetted" participants.

It's a worthwhile exercise just to help you remember things you've learned. If it's for you and some friends looks fine.

If not, some critiques:

Spoiler

There are some details off (like the ball starts mostly toward the face direction (max is usually ~80%).

You're also a bit ambiguous in your reference points in the procedures for setting up to shape the ball. Phrases like 'to that line' isn't clear if you are referring to the target line or the body/shoulder line. It's good to be explicit, because you can do something line drop your right foot back and still leave your shoulders and hips square to the target line.

Nope!  Seems like anyone can create a blog.

I didn't click on the link just because I'm usually surfing TST on my phone, and won't really "go outside" the site...if you did this as a blog on TST, I'd probably read it...my commute gets pretty boring. ;-)

Thanks. Was remembering the ~ average across all clubs. Forgot it got up to 90% with driver. Still the point was that for shaping shots initial direction is partly influenced by the path - particularly relevant for recovery shots where you're trying to bend it a lot and using a relatively extreme path.

Who was the sample population? Those high 80's% 9i seem like they were mightily delofted. Pro or scratch data?

    • Day 33 (20 Feb 26) - played the Friday men’s group shootout.  Solid day of working from some tough shot results - made for a good number of up and downs for par (8 of the 9 pars were such). Cart mate and I discussed the visual aspect of the game - and how much it plays into the individual’s mindset during the round.  Love when the discussion is focused on learning and taking positives away and not just how bad the miss may be.
    • Day 507 - 2026-02-20 Got some backswing work in on GEARS Hybrid.
    • Still kinda working on the backswing stuff. I can turn < 45°, but I tend to tilt toward the target a little. I can tilt away from the target, but I tend to turn a bit more. Case in point. I can do it, though: This I can do all day (it's more lateral than I want, but it's very linear): Here's what 38° of turn looks like. Almost freaking nothing.
    • Good progress. I am finally feeling like I am settling my weight into my right foot earlier in the backswing. Right hip sinks back, right leg feels staying flexed. Feeling very stable and firm in the right leg. I feel like I could do a good squat with that right leg. Very balanced.
    • oops, forgot Pebble Beach and Spyglass.  And two more of the original Open rota, Prestwick and Musselburgh (with hickory shafted rentals).  And Muirfield.  And maybe a few more, I'll check my list when I get home.
