Anyone ever play Brasstown Valley in Young Harris, GA?   I and two friends went to North Carolina on Aug 14 for a few days of golf, and we played Maggie Valley and Brasstown Valley.   We got a golfnow hot deal for Brasstown Valley for $33 apiece!  What a fantastic golf course.  The pure physical beauty of the place is incredible.   And there were a lot of nice touches, like free range balls, and plenty of rakes around the bunkers so you don't have to go fetch the rake every time you go in a bunker.

It was very hot, so maybe that kept all the other golfers away, because we practically had the course to ourselves.

Maybe I'm just used to crappy courses, but I thought this course was exceptionally beautiful.

That's the silver lining to playing goat tracks all the time. You feel like you are in some golf utopia when you are some place decent.

I'm looking forward to my NC trip at the end of September. That's be the other end of NC, the Outer Banks.

That's probably a valid point.   My last round of golf before going on this trip was at the absolute worst golf course I've ever played, Jacksonville Beach.

I have played it a few times and it has always been in good shape and very challenging, at least to me...the lodge and food there are great and a nice place to stay.
