Thanks for the reply but I don't want to make them mid or oversize. I just want them to feel like my normal setup which is 580 grip on 600 butt with one wrap of 2 inch wide grip tape. I've used this configuration for years and have become used to it. I ask because I'm having trouble finding my normal grip (GP Tour Wrap 2G) in 580 size. Everybody only has the 600 size.

The GolfPride site has a FAQ section. You can see from the chart that your original setup, 580 grip on 600 butt adds 1/64th in thickness or about 0.016". Using a 600 grip on 600 butt is std or 1/64th smaller. So you would just need to add a second wrap of tape to get it to be +1/64th.

Grip size can have a visible effect upon your shot pattern and shaping, so proper grip size is very important. The sizing chart below shows how mixing grip core size with shaft size can “customize” grips. Also, grips can be built up by adding wraps of tape to the shaft – one wrap will increase grip size by 1/64, two wraps 1/32, etc. Or the easy way to achieve an oversized grip is to start with one of Golf Pride’s Midsize models. And no guesswork is needed

  On Shaft:
Grip Size: .560 .580 .600 .620 .690 +
56 Std. +1/64 +1/32 NR NR
58 -1/64 Std. +1/64 +1/32 NR
60 NR -1/64 Std. +1/64 NR
62 NR NR -1/64 Std. NR

Its odd to me that a grip manufacturer sizes its grips in decimals, but posts this table in fractions.  A  580 grip on a 600 shaft SHOULD be 0.020 inches oversize, which rounds closest to 1/64.  From what I remember, a single wrap of masking tape increases the shaft diameter by 0.010 inches, so you'd need two wraps of tape.  You can also look at this chart for other conversions:

That's strange because around here all I find are the .580 grips, which is why I would order them online. Is that what you are trying to do? I know Lamkin offers both sizes on their site but no idea for other grips.

    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
