Hey guys I'm Mike and new here and fairly new to the game. I'm 25 and have very little experience. I watched my dad play growing up and learned a little from him but was never interested until recently. Just got married and most of the guys golf and took me along to start playing and had a blast! So I look forward to playing more often and learning. Currently using my dads ancient gear and looking around to try to piece together a more modern used set of clubs (the actual wooden driver is a bit outdated) any tips? 

BTW I'm 25, a Marine Corps veteran and live in Central Florida.

Hello and welcome from another central Floridian. I've been here less than a year, but love it so far.

The Golfsmith stores in Orlando are closing. There might still be some good deals there on clubs.

Yeah I went to the one in Altamonte yesterday actually, they were pretty cleared out and what was left seemed a little overpriced.

      Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
