What's Wrong With Early Wrist Set?

I swing in a very similar way but not quite as extreme as the Faldo/Leadbetter drill. I struggle with a one piece take-away and often take the club back too inside or not hinge the wrists enough. I found the Faldo drill really helped but put quite a bit of strain on the left wrist and arm and caused my tendonitis to flare up after a while.

I noticed another version on the tube from a Golf Digest best young teacher called Jason Birnbaum called "swing of the future". Firstly its not, its basically a less drastic (not by much) version of the wrist set. Where Faldo doesnt move anything but the wrists Birnbaum has a little more movement. This has really helped my contact, distance anf confidence and saved my wrist.

Not for everyone at all but may help some.

 

[Keep It Simple]

DJ Trahan is another Tour player with an early wrist set.  Starts to set the wrists before his body moves.  He was a pretty long hitter too.
