Your feels are going to vary, but most people feel that it starts lower - the left knee, the left heel, the hips…

Thats what I'm talking about.  thx

I didn't realize until I did the Swing Thread video that my heel was an indicator.  Then I saw some other players, and @iacas stated it Friday, above.

Many thoughtful posts here. As iacas and DaveP and others have mentioned, many people have a different "feel". We know a guy who can really play! He was on the Ohio State varsity golf team, and thought about trying to go pro, but an injury precluded that. He's about a scratch handicap and will swear on a stack of Bibles that he initiates the downswing by turning his left shoulder toward the target! Yet, when I watch him swing, that's not what I see.

He has a beautiful, "ground up" swing with exquisite timing, and he bombs the ball a mile! What I think this represents is that, at one time, his lower body was getting ahead of his shoulders and arms, and he had to find a way to speed them up. So, he developed a new "feel" to help him sync things up.

It's whatever works for you!

Did go get a mini lesson for free.  We talked about three things.  Adding the sensation of a pause at the top.  Don't swing from outside in.  Get a more of an inside to out swing.  Take a little more time.  Stand behind the ball and get a visualization of the swing and getting a positive result.  I now visualize my swing as just like Fred Couples.  (apologies to Fred)

    • Day 555 - 2026-04-09 Played 17 holes (we skipped 6 to pass a group letting us through). Hit more good shots than I was expecting. 😄
    • Day 233 4-9 flow drill while focusing on better hip/chest rotation. Used mirror.
    • Comment:  Huh, I practiced regularly until 1/31, got busy in Feb-Mar (as I knew I would), and got reinspired today.  I have done some intermittent practice in the past two months, but let's get back on the daily practice wagon. Day 1, April 9 2026.  I worked on some pelvis turn limiting drills, doing one for several iterations before context switching to hit a few balls slowly (trying to retain that feeling), and repeating.
    • I’m thinking maybe Jason Day read my post. He’s sitting a -3 two off Rory and Burns.
    • Is it only the weekend broadcasts that have a low commercial count?  I feel like it has been a long while since I last watched a Thursday of the Masters, so maybe my recollection is off.  I feel today has a lot more than four minutes per hour of commercials, and far fewer of the fun stories they tell during the Sunday broadcast.
