So I've played golf for a while now, played all four years in high school, but recently I only play about once every two months, and want to start going more often now. I currently have Nike Slingshot irons with graphite shafts, and am in the market for a new/used set.

If anyone can make any recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate it. My budget is $350 max, but lower would be nice haha.

Thanks!!!

I would like to help, but I know nothing about your game. I would suggest you visit a local golf shop, tell them your budget, and then try out some used clubs they have on-hand.

Finding a set that fits your swing and body build is important. Remember, the right shaft is just as important as the clubhead.

You need to have confidence in your new clubs. What makes me feel confident may not make you feel confident.

Also, do you just want to replace the Slingshot irons, or redo your entire bag?

Nothing more fun than getting new clubs.  One thing that will help is to have a good idea in your mind about what you want to accomplish with your next set.  For example, are the Slingshots not doing what you want them to do in certain areas?  Are you looking for a model that is less forgiving but higher performance to be able to shape your shots easier, or do you want something more forgiving?  Are you thinking about moving to steel shafts, or do you want to stay with graphite?  Is there an aspect of the Slingshots you really like?  Is there anything you don't like?

Asking yourself questions like this will help narrow things down.  You might not know which brand or model you want, but that's ok...as long as you know what direction you want to go, you'll get the most for your money.

Ideally you would hit some on a monitor and compare. Many golf shops will have used sets they took on trade in they are re selling. Look around your area and see.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I've really got to go to a pro shop and try out clubs.

From my research, I'm really like the Wilson ci11. I know that Wilson clubs aren't really sought after that much but I've seen nothing but great things about them online.

But I've also been leaning towards trying out the AP1 716s.

I will keep you guys updated and I'm not going to be jumping the gun, I just wanted to see what everyone thought. I know that no one is the same, and I ultimately have to feel comfortable with whatever clubs I decide to purchase.

Thanks again!!!

@Atlas A friend of mine has been playing the Wilson Ci9 irons for quite a while, and he's been very happy with them.  I can't imagine they are much different than the Ci11.

On the other hand, I know a lot of guys (plus one woman) who are very happy with the Titleist AP1 irons.

There are a lot of clubs to choose from in that category, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for once you give several of them a go.  Keep us posted how everything turns out!
