Demo day burning question- no putters to try?

Just went to another demo day where there is a large putting green yet No DEMO PUTTERS!!

Seriously, wtf?  You can hit every friggin club these manufacturers have on the range but why do they not bring putters?

Is it me or am I wrong that Taylormade is making huge news with the Spider tour putter with Sergio winning with it, Having DJ and Rahm going head to head in the final round a few weeks ago, each using the Spider Tour.

Odyessey touting it " hinge" insert and Ping coming out with the Sigma G line that they are screaming about.  In fact, the Ping rep gave me a new Sigma G hat...yet the putters were nowhere to be found.

This makes ZERO sense to me that these companies don't demo putters.

Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing a putter at a demo..

My clubs demo couple weeks back had only the new Scotty's no other manufacturer brought one. TM had their own day but I didn't go to it.

Most Demo days will have only ONE Rep at the event and they would have a difficult time keeping track of anyone and everyone who walks off to try a putter while helping customers with clubs.

Yes it would be great if they would bring putters and have someone, possibly a club staff member available to handle they merchandise.

Most golf retail stores have the merchandise, while it's not quite the same putting indoors as on greens, I agree it would be nice to try them on greens.

Club Rat, this demo they do every year at the same place.  It a a huge 3 day event.  All the  companies have at least 5 people working. A few I  counted 10.  They know there is green there too since its there every year

We had a decent-size demo day last spring at our home course. If I remember right, Ping and Cleveland/Srixon were the only two OEMs that had putters available.

I was hoping to try the Ping Tyne slight arc up against the Taylormade Spider Tour.  I would prefer the Ping but all I can find in the stores is straight stroke and want to compare the 2 of them as well.

If the Cleveland/Srixon rep shows up, try the Cleveland 2135 Putter. It has an interesting alignment design concept, and it felt pretty good when I tried it.

I can honestly say I've never seen a demo day where they had putter available to test, regardless of the putting facilities at the course hosting the demo. I imagine it is because they probably want to focus their attention on the iron sets and drivers where they'll have the most buyers and make the most money on almost any given day.

I thought of that too but putters ain't cheap anymore.  All the oems bring their wedges...those  cost less than putters. Spider Tour at $299...and it's hot right now.

It's not that, it's volume of sales. They bring wedges because people will buy a full set of 3 wedges all at once. That's volume of sales. People come out to demo the drivers, and those (drivers) are the most frequently purchased golf club in the bag. That's volume of sales. Iron sets are them making a larger profit because it's selling more clubs at once, again a volume of sales.

Putters are the least frequent purchase, in terms of the everyday golfer. They buy a putter once and then forget about it, because a new putter doesn't have the same appeal to the average golfer as a set of irons or a new driver.
