I'm pretty sure that is why he left it in. He was going to make sure it had a chance and wasn't short which was a loss. 1 inch by the hole or past it 30 feet in the water is the same result.

Yea, definitely, but their opponents were already pretty much in for birdie, so you have to go for it. Might as well hit it. Plus, at least he was smart enough to leave the stick in. Some guys on tour might have pulled the flag.

On to the 4th playoff round.  Missed putts, great opportunities, for the young guys on that Par 3.

 

and how about the women yesterday - 6 extra holes to beat Kerr.

Oooof, what a cruel game. Three 69s and an 86? Sounds like Dirk Diggler's film career. 

Yea these guys can't read a green to save their lives right now.
