Evnroll Putters?

Maybe I did it wrong, but I did a search on Evnroll putters and only found passing references.

I've only had 2-3 putters in 50+ years, but I am coming back to golf after a long layoff. My long ago trusty old Odyssey DF550 has seemingly unfriended me, so I am looking at a new putter. I favor the slight arc Ping putters (Kushin, Oslo) but there's a lot of interesting buzz about the Evnroll putters (ER-2 leading in looks for me). But I am going to the PGASuperstore for a fitting in the next few weeks, and I'll listen to their advice - stoke, length, lie, loft, grip, etc. $200-350 for a putter is expensive but it's about 35-40% of my score and I only "splurge" every 20 years or so.

Anyone here tried an Evnroll in person? Thoughts?

I don't know anything about the Evnroll, but since you're willing to commit to a fitting, are willing to spend for quality and aren't afraid of a long term "commitment" when it comes to your putter, you might want to look into the possibility of an Edel custom...

Have been using one for a few months now and love it.  Has taken about 3 putts off my normal putts per round average.  Where I see the biggest difference is with my lag putting.  Has not made any difference with short putts, but I tend to miss the center of the face on longer putts and I have noticed a pretty significant difference.  The ball gets closer to the hole whereas my old Scotty would spray it further left, right, or short.   I am very confident it is giving me a chance at less 3 putts which was the biggest reason I bought one.   Its a very legit putter.  Worth trying out, but absolutely make sure to go to someone who knows how to fit for a putter.

I am playing the ER2 currently.  I have 10 rounds on it.  I like it but it is not magic.  Many of the Ping faces have a treatment that is supposed to maintain distance on off center hits.  I believe they changed their prior version because it was too close to the Evnroll face and there was a conflict.  Today I would lean towards Ping with this face or Evnroll.

Good Luck!

Unless the fitting leads me elsewhere, I plan to test drive the Ping Sigma G Kushin and the Evnroll ER-2. However, I do realize a lot of it is in my head and practice is probably the best medicine.

My wife has started playing the Evnroll putter (ER6) a few weeks ago, and she is putting far better then with her Ping Mallet putter.  A buddy of mine, at the club, also has the same putter and loves it.  Her distance control on long putts is far better, although as @Divotmaker77 mentioned, not sure the shorter putts are way better, but her longer putts are getting closer and it gives her a better chance of making it, rather than previously she would never get close enough to have a chance as often.

  • 3 weeks later...

So I bought an Evnroll ER-2. I love it and I am putting much better, 2-4 strokes per 18 holes so far. Of course I've been practicing and I've corrected some faults with my stroke, and I'm thinking less and trusting my feel more. Who knows if the putter helped, but I have some confidence back and the putter seems to swing itself (I assume it's because of the noticeably heavier head). YMMV

I am at around 25 rounds with the putter now and I am liking the results.  My prior putter was a Scotty Cameron and I like this one better without a doubt.

    • so with the driver. Feel more arm  width at A4. keep an in the eye on the ball. The first move from the top is lowering the hands down. Don’t mix that up with looking up at the target as the club comes down from A4 with the body. Feel like I get width with the arms from the chest in the Downswing.

    • Went back and reviewed my rounds this year at my home course to fill out the spreadsheet. Realized I have made at least par on each hole but two that I have bogied. At my skill level, it gives me a new confidence that I can play each hole decently well and strong together a lower score. Great mental boost.
