Most of the stuff on golf if you've been here regularly you probably already know, although it's refreshing seeing Flightscope get some attention rather than Trackman. The bits on running, cycling and other sports, that stuff I wasn't too familiar with. And it's a bit of stealth product placement, but interesting nonetheless. I'm not in agreement with teching out to the hilt all the time, but it is a technology news website. And rocket boosters in soccer shoes. No.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

very interesting video.   I do believe that people of today are bigger, stronger and faster than we were a couple generations ago.  The article did suggest though that maybe the coaches are searching out certain athletes for their specific sports.

Unlike what the article suggests, I would rather not see tech influence golf too much, like where they suggest that a soccer player could have glasses that show them in real-time the optimal shot strategy. At the end of the day I don't want machine learning or machines "playing" sports for us, and decisions and the athletic moves to be made to still be made by human beings.

It's a fine line. Obviously in golf we can analyze data and use machine learning to tell us how to play, but not in real-time. It's something we have to do off the course, before we play.

This just came to mind, but an interesting idea would be to be able to use something like Google glasses to show your shot zone while you play. A LSW teaching aid. :-D

No, we'd just show a virtual flagstick where the player should try to hit their shot. For most, that's a little long and left. ;-)
