No idea.

When I'm playing I'm not out there to see how far I can hit each club. It's nearly impossible to tell driver distance since tee boxes can be moved and yardages are rarely what the scorecard says anyway. I also only hit my irons for accuracy, so I could give you my averages for each but not my farthest because I don't know.

Over a half mile with my driver. I was playing during the winter with a friend. I bet him a six-pack that I could drive the ball over 400 yards from an elevated tee at our home course. After he accepted the bet, I aimed far right across a great salt pond (think large lake) that was frozen solid and we watched as it skipped across the ice out of sight.

Vox -

Two questions:

  • You didn't use a good ball for this did you?
  • Was your next shot your third shot off the tee?

Hahaha

  • 6 months later...
I can hit everything farther if I want, but this is the yardage set I try to play to:

Driver: 275
3-wood: 255
5-wood: 235
4-iron: 220
5-iron: 205
6-iron: 190
7-iron: 175
8-iron: 160
9-iron: 145
PW: 130
GW: 115
SW: 95
LW: 75

These increments tend to work well for the courses I play which are in the 6900y range. Sometimes I'll try to nut a drive on a short par-4 and it gets out there about 295 or so with a SS of around 119. Otherwise, my driver SS is around 114, 6-iron around 96mph, 19* and 4600rpm.

I answered this question earlier but I feel like the question is to ambiguous. Many people's response to this is how far CAN I hit my clubs and I think the answer to that with limitations is how ever far I need too. I found this interesting...

Tiger's a phenomenal athlete:

. I know nowadays his SS with driver is around 120. And that's a very controlled 120. I think when he was younger it was probably high 120s, low to mid 130s. I bet he could've hit 140 back then if he wanted to. I've got a device that measures your swing speed and on any given day my absolute max without hitting a ball and swinging as absolutely hard as I can is probably 125. The highest I've ever gotten it is 134 on 2 swings. I hit 129 a few times, but it all depends on how my middle back is doing and where the day occurs within my weekly workout schedule. Tiger did this crap everyday, and I've got 3 inches and 40 pounds on him. Completely ridiculous. He also has a +10 home course handicap if you weren't shocked enough.

OK, all these distances have been confirmed using either:

A: Forrest Gump Pacing method
B: A professional surveying team
C: The odometer of a 79 Buick Riviera

So I don't want to hear any crap about make believe numbers, OK?

Here we go:

(no tailwind or cartpath assist, these are just average numbers)

Driver: 4.6 Miles
3 Wood: 4.5 miles
5 wood: (don't have one, but I would say 3.9 miles)
1 iron: (yes, on the Internet, I'm that good) 1.6 miles
3 iron: 645 yards
4 iron: 550 yards
5 iron: 420 yards
6 iron: 300 yards
7 iron: 250 yards
8 iron 200 yards
9 iron: 188 yards
PW: 150 yards
GW: 125 yards
LW: 318 yards (consistently skulled)
Putter: don't carry one, all my approach shots are laserlike and find the hole.

Please refer any questions to this guy......

POWWWWWWWW!!!!
