I started playing with AVX early this summer and love it.  I also find at least one AVX at my course every weekend so I don’t think this ball works for everyone...

IMO....I don't care for the AVX......kinda surprised Titleist hasn't discontinued this ball.

Ya....it has distance off the driver and longer shots because it's a low spinning ball....but for me....lacks in feel and performance on the short game...it feels like a rock to me.

It was popular when it 1st launched years ago...but not popular anymore....I rarely find them nowadays.

It it was such a great ball...then why do we see few advertising on this model.

I can't think of one one on the PGA, LPGA or Champions Tour using this ball....and one might think a few might use it on the LPGA where some pros could use some distance...but no LPGA pro that I know uses the AVX,

I think the ProV1 and ProV1x are superior performing golf balls....I really like the ProV1....and I think all other Titleist models in the past 15 years have paled in performance in their respective ball range category.

Was chatting with the pro in the shop last Sat...and he liked the new Tour Speed....I hope to find one soon to test it out.

interesting opinion. I’ve literally been playing nothing but Prov1/Prov1x for 20 years. I agree, not much has come close to it, although I’ve seen some nice balls released by other manufacturers thats have closed the gap. That’s about all I agree with you about however. Feels like a rock? I guess that’s what is so neat about golf equipment and varying opinions. I’m very impressed with the ball, and like I said, I’ve played nothing but Prov1 for 20 years. I scored really well with the ball at TPC Myrtle Beach and Pawleys plantation again today. The ball is solid. It doesn’t spin as much off the tee, and certainly seems to have  more distance, but green side spin was very good and it has nice softness off the Scotty Cameron and rolls true.  Usually very cynical about balls, but this one caught my attention and the Results have been there. I literally rotated a Prov1, Prov1x and AVX last few rounds and amazed.

I'm with you. I'm a big fan of the AVX. They reminded me a bit of the old "Kick X" balls that I found through this site. Off the tee, the performance is exceptional. Better distance and accuracy than almost any other ball I play. They have enough spin so that my iron shots hold, but not so much that they spin backwards like crazy with the wedges. Short game performance is not quite as good as the Pro-V's but it's certainly good enough. I definitely wouldn't say it feels like a rock. I rarely buy balls anymore (I have managed to acquire a multi year supply as gifts), but if/when I do, I'd have no qualms about picking up a case of AVX.
