Day 1 (16 Nov 22) - starting over as I took several days off while vacationing with the kids and grands in New England.  Worked on the swing setup drill that I had been doing with the 7i and 8i, rehearsing takeaway and downswing, then making swings hitting hard foam balls.

Day 16, November 16, 2022

Worked for about 25 minutes hitting balls with an 8I today. Took a few breaks to film some content, including a weird one I put on Instagram Reels.

Day 17, November 17, 2022

Worked downtown after lessons, partly because I was putting off getting home and throwing snow (which unfortunately was too literal today, as it was so wet the snow thrower had a hard time of it, so I did a lot manually), and partly because I knew I wouldn't be back today.

Day 2 (17 Nov 22) - Played the back nine at Minnesott today with a good friend who’s recovering from a neck injury that has left his little and ring fingers in his lead hand numb (the strongest club he can comfortably hit is his 5i).  We discussed how we are working through injuries (my foot, his hand/neck) and how blessed we are to be able to play.

Day 18, November 18, 2022

My daughter's birthday, and a BIG day of watching videos about torques and forces. 🙂 While watching some of them, I worked on the backswing and transition.

Day 4:

Played 18 this morning. Little bit Jekyll & Hyde with the new downswing feel, but I feel like there is some good stuff, especially when I get the backswing part right.

Day 5 (20 Nov 22) - dreary outside so opted to work on putting inside focused on tempo.  Goal was to get the ball to just trickle into the cup, quite a few rolled about 2” short and 4’ back.

day 15 - played 9 holes in "below freezing" temperatures..  made a birdie on 4 and managed to improve my handicap a little. I don't know why they kept the course open and on summer-greens despite the ground having been frozen. Putting was a nightmare and I am sure playing in such conditions did more harm to the course than most other days combined.

cheers Chris

    • Day 23 - Back to full swing work, trying to swing loose and feel the club head.
    • Yet here we are. I don’t disagree that we should expect spectators to behave on any event, not just The Masters, but that’s not the case. There’s a sea of phones out there on any other event and a lot more incidents with spectators. Why shouldn’t we praise decent behaviour when it is often lacking in these days? There are plenty of golf related events to write negative articles about. I like when there is positivity to write about instead. Not that I expect them to behave at any other event like they do at Augusta just because it gets praise, but it’s nice to see positive spin on things. There are more than enough articles about rowdy spectators and cheating players. I think you nailed it in the first line: “grumpy old man”. 😉
    • Day 275: mirror work for a bit while watching TV. Working on cleaning up a few things in my lower body stuff.
    • Yeah, I take your point. Perhaps you've just identified the other side of the same coin: maybe there is very little to celebrate about pro golfers as people, so the golf media are clutching at straws trying to find something.
    • Go ahead and name three things that, in the world of golf, have been more praise-worthy in the last three months. I'll wait. It's not like they got Congressional medals or something.
