Day 13 - 2026-01-01

15 minutes of net work with 7 iron focused on trail hip and hands.

Day 142 1-1

Same as yesterday. No full swings during practice. Arching wrist on downswing and reconnecting arm. Extended pause at top. Realizing i have to overdo the arch in lead wrist to get ball to go anywhere left.

Day 458 - 2026-01-01

Hit about 60 balls over 2.5 hours. Mostly still backswing, did a little downswing rehearsal stuff. With, obviously, some downswings, but they were not great. Soon.

Day 30 (01 Jan 25) - Played the New Year’s Day tournament that our club holds - 2 man super ball format - fun day of course management and having a good start to the new year.

Day 3, 1/1/26.  Almost forgot!  Not a great start to the new year. Didn't do this before going to a NYD party, but did 15 minutes when I got home, primarily with the 6-iron (same situation as yesterday).

Day 13 - 2026-01-02

One hour short game work. Chipping balls to different targets, compass putting drill with 2-3% slope.

Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.

Day 459 - 2026-01-02

Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways:

• A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s)
• Less pelvis turn (low 50s).

Day 143 1-2

Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.

Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.

Day 39: did top golf for an hour with the family. It was fun but also not really like real golf at all. Also did some mirror work - working on the backswing stuff mostly.

Day 144 1-3

Hit real balls today. Still just pausing at the top, not "real" swings Main focus is closing club face with arched wrist. Slight cupped wrist in backswing is helping shaft plane, obvious on dtl recordings. Contact isn't good right now, I dont care.

Mat and net work, focusing again on trail body parts. Ready for the ranges around here to open again.

Set up GEARS Hybrid for a lesson, so used it in the morning for checking a few things from yesterday.

Day 32 (3 Jan 26) - Misty, rainy day - opted to rehearse swing in the mirror - focused on face position at P6 thru P9.

Day 5, 1/3/26.  Today was a weird day schedule-wise, but I did find 15 minutes to hit 6-iron shots (indoors, off a mat, into a net).  I also got to thinking about yesterday's round and, other than a few thin shots (that I think were weather/grip related), I didn't have any wild non-driver shots, which was weird for me.  I need to get back to video, which is tough in my setup.

Also, this wouldn't count on its own, but anyone reading this and thinking about doing their own 5 minutes daily, check out Fit for Golf's latest podcast episode.  It's only a few minutes and Mike does a great job talking about the importance of doing a bit each day.  That also reminded me, I let my FFG subscription lapse, I'm going to renew it.

Day 40: short range session. Worked on my drill mostly. Finished with some full swings and driver swings. Range was packed because it was so nice out. Solid session though.
