"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 12 (30 Jan 26) -  Had hoped the men’s group would be playing, but the cold temps and delayed opening kept them at bay. Spent some time on the range working on loading the trail foot on the backswing (focusing on loading the inner portion of the foot and collapsing the knee slightly toward the ball). Learned too much really brought on a left pull.  Easing back a bit, really helped compressing the ball and overall accuracy.  Took it to the course for a practice round, focusing on this small change.  Saw better dispersion across the bag….guess this will be part of the mirror work drills as snowpacolypse 2 hits eastern NC.

Day 41 - 2026-01-30

More backswing and grip work on the mat / net. Also some mirror time focused on trail weight.

Day 66: Played 18! Wasn't really keeping track of score, but guessing in the low 80s. Driving okay, iron play up and down, lagging putting really bad. Overall, it was good to get out and play.

Got on GEARS Hybrid. Backswing is pretty good, though I can minimize some of my sway. It's bigger than I thought. And a little reverse axis tilt.

Played 18. Semi finals of team matchplay so wasn't finishing out every hole and was more focused on score than process/swing so probably not the most productive round.

Day 171 1-31

Good practice session today. Worked more on flow and a shortwr pause at the top of the backswing/arching wrist.

Day 13 (31 Jan. 26) - Due to the nice snow storm, opted to do mirror work focused on  the trail knee shift to load weight onto ball and heel of trail foot going from P3 thru P5.

Day 42 - 2026-01-31

Babysat grandson all day so almost a lost day. Got in some mirror work to reinforce trail side.

Day 31, 1/31.  I was away most of yesterday (pretty much after my morning practice) and today until a few minutes ago, but I brought with me a section of pipe I bought over the summer, initially to practice grip.  I was able to use this to get to positions (and, in particular, to see where the grip was at the top of my backswing, related to what I've been working on).

Day 67: did a stack session. Also did some slow swing work during rest breaks - down and then turn.

Day 30: 2026.02.01

Some slow, exaggerated swings in the garden. Raising the arms still feels odd in the top half of the backswing, so just trying to get used to the sensation.

Day 14 (1 Feb 26) - Opted to work with putter a bit, focused on pace….getting the ball to just make it into the cup (the auto return),  worked on getting the ball to start on the visualized line.

arching wrist in downswing and used mirror to check backswing position/length. Was hoping to hit balls outside today, still too much snow.

Day 43 - 2026-02-01

45 minutes of range time, working on grip and backswing. It was rough in terms of ballstriking, though video shows some improvement.

Day 68: played 9. Everything was pretty meh, but it’s also February 1, so oh well. Biggest problem was lag putting, which is fine for now.

GEARS Hybrid was setup again, so… another nine swings. Continued work from yesterday while doing a little bit of the downswing stuff.
