"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 47 (25 Apr 26) - did some work with the mid-irons and hard foam balls - working on shot windows (as much as the wind would allow).  Also worked in a few swings where the shot was below or above stance - working on a deliberate fade or draw back into the target zone.

Day 28: just a bit of mirror work today. Worked on a bit of weight forward earlier and roll and twist in the downswing.

Day 29: played 9. Solid +3, with obvious improvements to come in tee shots. Iron play was much better, short game very good. Might be rounding into form. Also had a solid range season after the round. Started with driver, and then went to working on my priority piece after that. Videos looking decent, although still could use improvement.

Day 48 (26 Apr 26) - Nice all day light rain (no outside for me) that has been sorely needed - putting stroke drills focused on takeaway equaling follow through.

Day 572 - 2026-04-26

Got almost all of my playlist in with AlmostGolf balls before lessons today.

Day 18, April 26.  I played 18 today at a course only a few miles from where I used to live, but I barely played it when I lived there.  I shot an 81, which includes two birdies and a double bogey (on a par-5 😞 The other 17 holes were 5 or better each) and was low net for the club for the day.  To my surprise, I putted well too;  I think this was my first round in memory where my score was exactly 95 minus 2*GIR (I only hit 7 GIR today).

Day 49 (27 May 26) - long day of back to back to back meetings.  Got home right at dusk, worked in a few swings with the 56° in the backyard - simple up and down type pitches - focused on distance control to the target point from 10 to 25yds.

Day 248 4-27

Worked on chest keeping speed through downswing and arching wrist through. Hit a few foam balls but went slow and short swings.

Day 19, April 27.  I took several breaks during a work-from-home day and hit four dozen practice balls on full swing:  three dozen with the 6-iron and one dozen flight PW.  My same priority as the past few weeks has remained.  I also did some putting on the metal ruler drill.

Day 30: not feeling great, so just a bit of mirror work at night. Working on wrist twist and forearm rolling.

Day 50 (28 Apr 26) - best drills ever as it was a nine-hole captain’s choice with grandson as part of the group (our church men’s group monthly outing) - great session of course management and just being relaxed behind the club.

Day 20, April 28.  6-iron and PW, mostly the 6-iron, 30 balls in my indoor practice room.  I also did a few balls putting on the ruler but didn't count what I was doing (it was more doing 6-10 balls a few times while something loaded in another room for work)

Day 249 4-28

Focused on keeping speed with chest through downswing again. Went a little too fast tonight but had a few shots i could tell/see  i wasn't flipping, progress.

Day 574 - 2026-04-28

Work from home type of day, so… got a lot of mirror work done in between stretches for my back/neck.

Day 31: did the yardstick putting drill for a solid 20ish minutes. Went fairly well. Hands higher, feel more like putter is straight, help with succeeding at the drill. My daughter wanted to try, too, which didn’t go as well for her.

Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
