Wanted to get some opinions on the new Ping G10s. I have a set of G2's that I like but I need to get bent to a flatter lie. When I got them several years ago, I was doing a Natural Golf swing. I have abandoned that and gone to more of the Jim Hardy one plane swing. When I got the pings, I was fitted for a blue dot (0.75 upright). I believe I will go to at least 0.75 flat or more. The question I have is is it worth it to spend a little over a $100 to get refitted and pay Ping to bend these, or is the improvement in the G10 enough to sell my G2 and just get fitted for the G10?

I have never hit G2 irons, but I have a set of G10s and I absolutely love them. I feel like I am nearly unable to hit them badly (although my scores are telling me otherwise ). Great balance, perfect weight, satisfying feel at impact... I can't say enough about them. I think that my happiness has as much to do with the design of the clubs as it does the fact that they are fitted to me, so I would at least get your G2s adjusted. If you are attached to the G2s, have them fitted. If you are willing to spend another 7 bills on sticks, I highly recommend the G10s.

if you have the cash - get the G10's - you won't regret it.

Pings are not designed to change the lie angle (hence the colour scheme) - i guess you're only looking to change it 1 colour (0.75) - so maybe it's possible. A clumaker will be able to tell you. A Pro might tell you that they can't (but then he'll try and sell you something!)

The G2's are a nice club - but the G10 are even better.

$100 versus close to $1,000? That's a no-brainer for me. If I have the hots for new clubs, the brain doesn't enter into it.

No Ping can change the lie angle no problem on all recent clubs, the only exceptions are the older exotic material clubs, BeCu etc. that have lost there malleability with age - and Ping will even bend them, they just get you to sign a disclaimer that if they break in the process they're not liable.
I find the Maltby tables useful to some extent in seeing the progress over generations of clubs. The G2 is an 817, the G10 878, so the G10 is a bit more forgiving but it's not a huge difference by any means.
Go find a place with a Ping fitting cart and figure out what you need, I'd suggest getting your G2's bent and waiting for the G11's or whatever before buying a new set, but then I'm still playing ISI's :)
