Not sure if this is a stance issue or an equipment issue, but here I go.

Recenty hit a bunch of balls off one of those green brush mats. I noticed that there was an accumulation of green “stuff” at the toe of the clubs. I have also noticed that, sometimes, my divots are deeper on one side, consistent with the toe digging deeper than the heel. So it would seem that I have a lie angle issue.

Suggestions? Adjust lie or stance?

I am 66 in age, 6 feet tall, 22 handicap.

I have attached 2 pics of a golf grip. One of these looks like it would result in toe down contact. These are not me. They are just some stock pics of grips. Could I be doing this at set up or impact?

I'm not really sure what you're trying to convey with those images.

Generally speaking clubs can be a bit toe-up at setup as the shaft will droop a bit during the swing.

Agree too flat of lie angle. Do have a question though. Could the OP have a grip issue that is causing the toe down? Like maybe too much  grip in the palms, and not enough in the finger joints?

Ping G15 black dot. Thanks for helping out.

I would go to a store that is selling Pings, e.g., Dicks, and hit on a strike board. Ping can adjust your clubs lie angle up or down depending. Black dot is there standard, off the rack set up. You'll probably get a free lessons while you're swinging as well.

    • Day 24 9-7 Worked on lower body movement with full swing. Focused on hips. Need to work on setup a bit. Was hoping to get to the short game area today, stayed home and recorded some swings instead. I've come to the conclusion I learn the most with my practice setup at home, just a net and a hitting strip. Overall happy with the progress this week.
    • Day 2 (September 7), still with the grip and the medicine ball (using weights).   Still on vacation and really aching to be able to do a full practice the way I'd be able to at home.  Also bought a 1/2" section of pipe today at the hardware store and have been regularly practicing the grip with that too while watching Sunday football with the family.
    • Day 1: Worked on feels for wedge swings. Primarily getting everything to move from the top of the backswing in the correct sequence.
    • Day 6 (7 Sep 25) - Afternoon pitch session with the 54 and 58 in the backyard. Keys: Alignment - Setup - Smooth swing thru - working on each to be as “automatic” as possible - not mindless, but deliberately repeatable. I have found the precision required to properly execute carries well into the full swings.
