I've thought about making this topic for a long while but I've been waiting for the right time to start it up. Seeing as how it was just St. Paddy's Day and over the weekend...Ireland became Grand Slam champions in rugby, Irish Olympic boxing medalist Michael Conlan just won again at Madison Square Garden, Rory crushed the competition in the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and I just found out I'll be heading to Ireland next month for work, I feel now is as good a time as any. :-)

This is your place for all things Irish golf.

Sort of like how Silent covers golfer Joost Luiten, I'll be keeping my eye on the North and the Republic, the Graemes, the Paddys, the Rorys, and the Pauls, etc, etc.

Feel free to join in!

I had Lowry in my fantasy picks.  He’s been struggling a bit lately.

Yeah :(, Harrington, Dunne, and Powers have all been struggling as well. They've all been a bit streaky the last couple years. And Graeme needs a win badly.

HA! Not sure how to take that, but I lol'd. Anyone can post in this thread. It's akin to if someone was to make a thread about Japanese pro golfers, which I'd totally be for and post in. I simply grew up in a very pro-Irish household. It's fascinating what families hold on to over the years, I grew up listening to all sorts of Celtic music. My wife's fam is very nordic, they have lefse with EVERY meal.

Rory has represented Ireland in many team tournaments.

Updates! Rory didn't fare very well at the WGC Match Play, didn't make it past the round robin.

Today we have to keep a good eye on County Wicklow's own PAUL DUNNE!

This 25 year old does not have a Masters invite despite besting Rory and winning the British Masters last October to notch a spot in the top 75 in the world.

He'll need a win today (two strokes back of the leaders) at the Houston Open. Paul has played the US OPEN and the OPEN Championship, but never the Masters.

County Offaly's Shane Lowry needs to go REALLY low today as he's 5 strokes back of the leaders, he also does not have a Masters invite, will need a win.

Seamus Power made the cut but is 8 strokes back, and Paddy Harrington missed the 54 hole cut.

My grandmother's parents were named Dublin and came to America from Dublin.   I guess you could say I'm part Irish.   I think it's exciting to see the varied personalities of golf.   I'm just a fan of golf and love to see good golf regardless of the nationality.

Thanks for sharing.

Ugh, Paul Dunne was looking good at -14, he then sliced it into the water on the easiest par 5. And then he flop shot it back in the water. Effectively taking himself out of the winners circle unless he goes absolutely berserk on the back 9. Tough to watch.
