I just finished reading all the new posts and it made me reach for the bottle.....again.......really drunk now.......I'm flying to Australia this weekend for some heads-up match play, I just hope I bring my 'A' game and my curved putting stroke so I don't get wopped.......whatever wopped means......If anyone cares to join maybe we could fly together and get a discount, I'm only a couple hours away from Detroit, hit up the casinos before we go, if its convenient with you guys......

Why are you acting so cocky, you have nothing to prove on this forum, and threatening people with match play... thats not cool

I use a face balanced putter and my putting stroke has a big loop in it on the way back but I somehow manage to get it square again by the time it gets back to the ball. I also use a split grip on a standard (35") putter. The split grip reduces the size of the loop in the back swing.

"PWNAGE" is a use of the internet gaming language known as "leet" speak (as in elite). It derives from common typing mistakes while playing internet games such as Counter Strike. Since the letters p and o are next to each other on the qwerty keyboard, it is a common mistake while typing very fast, and often with only one hand.

What the original poster was trying to say is that he "owns" everyone. His use of the phrase "I am the pwnage" is not only bad English, but also bad "leet."

Please refer any other strange internet language questions you have to me for interpretation.

Woah, thanks for the detailed explanation!!

So, in short... PWNAGE is a mis-type of the word "OWNAGE". ANd ownage derives from the hormone driven slangs used by our young while playing games such as Counter Strike... you know what? I can picture Tiger using the word and actually have the right to say so!

Ok it's not a mistake that we write it like that. It's just faster that way. If we spend too much time typing we get shot

And "I am the pwnage" does make sense. You can replace the word "pwnage" with the "s-word" , and other more descriptive words I'm kind of a nerd Let's try to get back on topic.

Shouldn't it be what ever works best for you and your putting stroke?

Would you be willing to go to Jim Furyk and tell him that if he changed his swing to look like everyone else he would be a better golfer (even though 6th in the world isn't that bad).

Wow, an actual article (like the one I asked of pwnage-boy). Thanks for posting that link.

It is still a misapplication of physics, however (which the author admits is only high school level). The back and forth is orthogonal (at right angles) to the lie angle of the club. It doesn't matter what angle the head of the club is at, you can move the end of the stick back in forth on a straight line. However, the concluding sentence of the article "If you want to really help your putting don't think about swinging the putter straight back and straight through but focus much more on your target line and the speed of the putt." I think is really good. Putting is really 100% about consistency, because you need to know how the ball is going to come off the face -- both the direction and speed. Unlike a full shot in golf, when hitting a putt, the goal is NOT to impart the maximum amount of your body's energy into the ball. Basically, that means that you can have inefficiencies and power leaks and all other sorts of off-kilter oddities in your putting stroke and not be giving anything up because of it. Putting is all about consistency, and if you can repeat whatever manipulations or dance steps you use to putt, then you can become a good putter. Now, don't get me wrong, I think having a simple efficient stroke is the easier path to consistency. But, it isn't the only path -- if you practice, practice, practice, almost any method that gets the ball rolling can be used to be a good putter. The best evidence of this is wide, wide variety of putting styles on the tours. Claw grips, and left hand low, overlap, reverse overlap, short putters, long putters, belly putters, different balanced putters, heavy putters or light putters, center or heel shafted, as noted above some players like to putt off the toe or the heel of the putter, or try to slice or hook it, etc. etc. They all can work because all you are doing is starting a ball rolling. And, once you find the one that works for you, all you have to do is practice, practice, practice and ingrain what the ball is going to do with your particular method. If you can repeat it under pressure, whatever "it" is for you, then you can a good putter.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
