A few months ago I posted a topic on how hard it was to find a replacement for a broken  shoulder strap. It seemed impossible to find a golf shop that had shoulder straps for sale. The smaller neighborhood golf shop were a thing of the past, replaced by the larger national brands.

I mentioned I solved the problem by going to an upholstery outlet, who sewed a repair on the strap for me.

Yesterday the same strap failed again. The material, due to age, is worn out. Repairing it would be a waste of time.

Here is my new fix. "Goodwill Store". I found an old bag with a sturdy strap for $7.00. The strap would also adapt easily to the connection points on my bag. The replacement  also has alot more padding than the old one. I paid the $7, and then donated the bag, (less the strap) back to the cashier. So if you need parts for anything, second hand stores are a viable place to search.

Truth be known, I should probably just buy a new bag. Problem is my gamer bag, like my clubs, has been with me for quite a while. It's my partner on the course. Too much history through thick, and thin, to toss, and replace it.

I've also bought used bags at thrift stores (usually $10 or less) just for the replacement strap. Not an exact match, but usually close enough that no one notices.

Another good bet is E-Bay. I've found both new and used straps, single and double, selling for $15 or less.

What's in the bag:
Driver: TaylorMade R9-460, 10.5 degrees, graphite shaft R flex
Hybrids: Kasco, 17 and 25 degrees, stock graphite shafts
Irons: MacGregor 1025 V-Foil forged irons, 4-PW, graphite shafts R, 2 degrees upright
Wedges: TaylorMade Black Oxide, 52, 56, and 60 degrees, graphite shafts
Putter: Rife Barbados mallet, 35 inches with SuperStroke 2.0 grip                                                                                                      Ball: Titleist AVX yellow

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
