Thanks, sounds good

I found a reasonably priced G400 5H.  Took it to the range for the first time a couple of days ago and was somewhat perplexed as to how well I hit it.  Long and straight.  I will hit the range again tomorrow morning and see if I really hit it better, or if the first time was a fluke.  I did notice that my best results were when I took a very relaxed swing at around 80%.  But I guess this is what I should be doing all the time, with every club.

Ping G30 SF TEC
Ping G25 3w
Ping G Red Dot +1/4" irons - 6,7,8,9,W,U,SW, LW
Ping G30 3H
Ping G25 4H
Ping Scottdale TR B60

A couple of thoughts:

1.  While it seems logical, and smart, to carry and use whatever works best, I just hate to have more than 3 headcovers in the bag.  Maybe it's mental block or something, but I just can't do it.  So I go with driver, 3W and 3 Hybrid.

2.  In the past, when I have experimented with many different clubs and shafts, I find that I do not hit Hybrids predictable or expected distances.  At one time I tried 17, 20 and 23 degree hybrids and found the 20 was virtually identical in distance to the 17 and went higher, while the 23 was useless since it was about the same as hitting a 5 iron.

3.  For me, the real debate has always been weather to carry the 3Hybrid or a 5W/7W.

I put my 3i and 4i away and got a 4h to complement my 3h.

I did the same but for a time even gamed a 5h and 6h. Back to 5i & 6i now. Ever since i switched to Dave Leadbetters A swing i seem to be hitting all but the driver much better (Trying to convince the Mrs that a new driver will sort that out but she's having non of it!).

My 3h and 4h are the most consistant clubs in the bag, i love them.

If you cant get comfy with the longer irons then a switch to hybrids may do you wonders.

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
