Stage 1 of the Tour de France today!

Television coverage has gotten better over the years--or at least more available.  (I remember when it was carried by Outdoor Life Network or something few years ago, and my cable company didn't carry that network, so I'm happy that NBCSN has it now.)

I won't have time to watch most of it, of course, but I'll still have my DVR set to record every day.  The big time crunch will be when the TDF and the Open Championship are both on. Which to watch?? (First world problems.)

As last year, Lance Armstrong is doing a daily podcast covering the event ("themove" through wedu.team).

Anyone else following it?

With so much going on now, WC, Wimbledon, regular season MLB, Open Championship coming up, this kind of gets lost, but agree, way way easier to watch now and I like that announcer, Phil something? Will probably skim through it via Hulu Live, there's a highlight show and don't even have to dvr live coverage.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

It’s lost is appeal with past scandals. Not that I was under any illusions of it being a clean sport to begin with. But the same has happened with other pro sports for me too. That and I have more than enough stuff that I do that, except golf, I really don’t bother watching anymore.

I gotta say that even with drugs, blood doping etc, it is still one heck of tough game to be in

    • Hey, thanks for the feedback. I do lift weights but I’m also adding yoga or Pilates for mobility and flexibility to my routine.
    • Day 18: 2026.01.20 Continuing work on arm raise during backswing. Starting to feel less weird, especially the slower I go. Looking like a busy week so might be the weekend before I can hit some balls.
    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
