Odd question for you, why are you looking for a 3 iron? What benefit would this add to your game over say a hybrid? Have you looked for a 3 iron single club to match your set? You may be able to find a 3 iron for that set online used.  Not very helpful to the question you asked. Sorry.

I have 2017 mizuno jpx ez cast irons. I would like to add a 3 iron to the set. So I am wondering what model mizuno would be a close match the the jpx ez

I have JPX 800 HD's with JPX Fli-Hi 3, 4,5. There also are MX Fli-Hi's and other Direct Iron Replacement clubs. All have a 3 DIR. Check online sellers and research the right club for you. Best, -Marv

If you want to match with the Mizuno, there's the FLI HI series.

If you're looking to fill a distance gap, you might want to consider a hybrid, but I'm guessing by your question you've already considered and rejected this option.  If I'm wrong and you hadn't considered it, let's discuss that difference so you can make a more informed decision.

If you want an iron-iron and don't care if it matches Mizuno, lots of companies have their various individual long-iron offerings;  if that's fitting, let us know if you want to go that route and we can discuss it then.

The 3 iron I have been using is an old mizuno gold and I hit that on average about 235 yards with better control than I have with my fairway woods. I am not a fan of hybrid clubs I just don't like the feel of them. Also mizuno does not make a 3 iron in the jpx ez and I was looking for something that has similar feel to the jpx ez.

Have you looked at the Srixon 565 model? I bet you’d like that club. The 565 would probably best match your Mizuno JPX but they also make the 765 and 965 (blade).
