Bunker Shots and options

Its hard to tell what might have been a better line.  A lot of those bunkers have adjacent slopes that funnel into the bunker from all directions.  They're like wee black holes attracting golf balls.  Evil little things they are.

Yea, that's a possibility that crossed my mind. To me it looks like the green slopes away from the front bunker, but it's in play if you hit it long.

I'm just saying it looks like he chose to take the line with the highest wall and might have been able to get out in one had he aimed a little left - where the lip was not only lower but also slightly farther away. He had no problem clearing the high lip on the third attempt when he was slightly farther back from it.

Of course it's entirely possible he just missed his first attempt. It's great being a Monday morning quarterback 😉
