Mets fan here; I'm totally jacked over this. To get him and not give up anyone from the roster and to hold onto our #1 prospect was huge. He's the ace we need.

I'm pissed because I'm an Indians fan and Sabathia is going to want a similar contract. He has one year left and I'm only going to watch him play it out and go to a large-market team.

Such is the MLB.

Enjoy Santana. I'm a Yankees fan and not getting him was really upsetting. Seriously, Ian Kennedy holds up this deal? He might not even begin the season in the Major Leagues. He can also be replaced by Andrew Brackman, Alan Horne, Jeff Marquez, Ross Ohlendorf or Humberto Sanchez.

As for the notion of money, the Yanks have almost $125 million coming off the books in the next two years, $90 million of which comes off in 2008. Considering what he signed for it was approximately $12 million new dollars that it would have cost the Yankees.

I must be the only Yankee fan who thinks that Santana, Chamberlain, Wang, Pettitte and Mussina is much better than Pettitte, Wang, Chamberlain, Hughes and Kennedy.

The Mets just clinched the NL East. Essentially, they have two new starters, since Pedro missed almost all of 2007. There is not one team in the NL East that can boast a 3-4-5 of Perez, Maine and El Duque. All of them had an ERA in the threes and two of them had 15 wins.

    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
