1952 to 1972 MacGregor Forged Iron Sets

I'm looking for a right hand set of MacGregor Tourney Classic irons, 2i through 9i. marked as CT1, Patent # 178818, Recessed Weight. These were manufactured by MacGregor Golf between 1978 and 1981 exclusively for sale by the Edwin Watts Golf Shops. They of an older are a replica of an older forging with shorter hozel.

I am a lurker here, came across this in a google search. I have a couple questions.

First, I found in a local thrift this single club, looks like brand new almost, and I can;t find ANYTHING about it on the net. After reading this, It may be a Brunswick club from the 80's, but I will let the experts inform me- it has the macgregor in a script, it says "Hilander" on it with some type of tiny picture logo on the edge, and the number "690" on it. If it is some kind of department store 80's starter set, well, I am out $1. 

Second, I am interested in picking up a vintage Macgregor iron set, to play and somewhat collect. I like vintage golf, I actually play better with stuff older then 2000 or so, and I tend to switch out the stuff in my bag every 3 or 4 rounds. It keeps the game fun for me. 

Which set, to people that have played or been around or tried many of these, would be "the set" to own for this purpose? it looks like, by this thread, the older MT or Jack signature clubs are popular, or maybe the Colokrome from way back. I like the wingback looks, but I also like quite a few of the beefy looking MT and VIP sets. I tend to favor heavier clubs, if that matters with this.

I just stumbled across this site and topic. 
I recently discovered a brand new, still in original wrap set of what I believe are 1977 985 irons. I’ve had them over 20 years and am planning to sell them. Any help on their providence and value would be appreciated.

I have studied and still use as a reference the Jim Kaplan MacGregor and Wilson golf history catalogs.

I just acquired a pristine set of MacGregor XP/70 irons, minus the 11-iron/pitching wedge.  Can you tell me the specifications: loft especially and lie angle, if available.

Just buffed up, lengthened a half inch and regripped a set of MT Tourney. Going to take them out today

Don’t mean to hijack this thread, but I’ve recently gotten so much enjoyment playing vintage irons I wanted to post here. They aren’t MacGregor irons, they’re 1987 WS Fluid Feel irons. 2-SW. I’m absolutely loving them!

I recently obtained my grandfather's old MacGregor clubs, the irons are 060 and they're in good condition. But he only had a single wedge in his set and it's only labeled as Wedge.  I am wondering if anyone would be able to help me figure out what the angle is of this wedge?

Just find someone with a loft/lie machine and measure it. It may not be the stock loft anyway.
