Yes I have I was in a similar situation as you were. I kept my shoes on as it was towards the end of the round. I played it like a bunker shot, I made it up on the green but was still left with a 15 footer. It was fun though I would definitely do it again.

How Many Hybrids Do You Carry?
Aquaguru replied to mtnbiker5's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have one a 20* hybrid. I'm looking for a newer 19* hybrid with a stiff shaft. -
I golf alone alot. I usually play one ball where with one of them I will play my normal game and then with my second ball I might play only irons or play a different set of tees. This gives me different shots and looks at the course. I don't like going to the range so by playing by myself it is like my practice session.

Course Name : Friendly Meadows Golf Club Course Website : http://friendlymeadowsgolf.com/ Course Style : wooded, somewhat narrow Regular Tee Yardage / Rating / Slope : 6620 / 72 / 129 Regular Tee Average Score : 77 Forward Tee Yardage / Rating / Slope : 4643 / 67.5 / 114 Forward Tee Predicted Score (Aggressive Round) : 68 Forward Tee Predicted Score (Conservative Round) :70 Seems like a cool idea. I will have to play my two rounds tomorrow but I will wait to post my results once the thread is created. I think the biggest advantage in playing the most forward tees is the par 3's. My course has 3 of the 4 par 3's playing around 200 yards. I don't think that playing conservative will help me to much because the worst part of my game is putting. Being aggressive will help because I will be on the green with two putts to have a birdie.

Poll: Do you play on a public or private course?
Aquaguru replied to Used2PlayALot's topic in Golf Talk
Public. But I do hold a membership. It's for two years 7 days a week anytime. The cost is only $498 for the green fees. Cart not included but I always ride. We do not get tee time advantages but I have never had a problem getting a tee time. The average round lasts around 4 hours at my course. -
I agree to this. The group I play with I usually always have a chance of hitting the green in 2 on a par 5. Where as my partners might take 3-5 shots to get on the green. So I have made it a point to go ahead and hit your approach shots until you get greenside or in distance to hit the green until the green clears. Then I hit my ball while they are all 100-150 yards up ahead of me. By the time I get to the my next shot the rest of the group will be either on the green or greenside. This way I don't have to change my game plan or slow anyone down. I have found that this makes play move alot faster. Also in my group we do not stop and watch players hit. We don't care if you walk by us while we are playing, its really not distracting or it shouldn't be. I don't think its rude and it keeps the pace up.

So did anyone get hit with a penalty. I haven't heard anyone talk about this or how the pace of play went for the tourny. I'm curious to see if the rounds were really any faster.

At my home course the only animal encounter I have is when the owners dog comes out to follow you throughout your round. It mostly happens when I'm out by myself. The dog will just walk beside you as your walking to your ball. Once your on the green the dog will just lay down off the green and wait for you to putt out. Once I hit an errant tee shot and he went running looking for it. Its a husky and a pretty cool dog. He also like to swim in the ponds on the course as well.

Probably my 21* hybrid. I can hit it about 225, but i can also draw it however far I want almost to a point of a hook. This really comes in handy when stuck behind trees with only one way out. I can also fade it and hit it low. I have also started using it around the greens more when I'm up against the cuff (like blading a wedge).

Great advice here. Start now putting them out. It will only make you better

Honestly I think with your swing your drives may carry 240, you may get 280 with roll. Back to the OP. The key for me on driving is all about speed. I'm only 5'8'' 155lbs. I have shorter arms to so I cannot get to parallel on my backswing easily. So in order to drive it out there 260 I accelerate as fast as I can. It really looks like I'm off balance but I don't feel it. My driver is really about feel, I swing it different (ie plane, grip, tempo) every time out. I usually figure it out after the first drive. My farthest carry has been 270. My farthest drive with roll has been 325. Both of these were measured with my GPS using the shot distance program. I do not consider myself a long hitter but I out drive all my playing partners and dad. But when I get into tournament play I'm right in the middle of the pack

I always just kept them in my dorm closet when I stayed in a dorm. Just remember that it takes away space from your small dorm room and make sure its okay with your roommate. To get to the courses I just become friends with others who had cars or who commuted that I could ride with. I would never pay for a taxi. But trying to find the time to play is the hard part.

You could always try to sell it to a buddy for some money. Why not make a guess and see what happens

I know I saw that once I hit the submit button. I did not mean to keep his name there. But oh well

I take an Advocare Spark energy drink mix before the round. Its easy on the stomach which I like because I have alot of GI issues. Its great for those early morning rounds when you need a little pick me up. David Toms, Rod Pampling, and Lee Janzen are a few of the players on the tour that use it. But other than that I drink alot of water, which is extremely important. The most important fluid you can take. Most people are dehydrated before they even know it. I'm an Athletic Trainer and I try to tell all the golfers I encounter the importance of staying hydrated when you out in the heat for 4+ hours. You need to be sure that you are consuming water the day before. The best way to check to see if you are hydrated enough is to check your urine color. It should be clear to slight yellow, there is a urine color scale that you can use if you really want to be exact (google it).

I never take my oakleys off. My eyes are pretty sensitive

Happen two weeks ago. After the 14th hole I was -1 and was trying to have my first round ever under par. Well that didn't happen as I went on the make four straight bogeys. Pretty disappointing when its right there and you just can't make par.

Yes I choose the ZL Encore. Stiff shaft. I always requested a 9.5 loft

Bent tree was one of my favorite courses to play when I went to school in Columbus. Great challenge and beautiful lay out. Now I'm in Cindy where they have some nice public courses. Legendary run, the vineyard, stone lick are a few that pop out at me. They aren't spectacular but that maintained nicely and have nicely cut greens

Not sure but I'm playing for sure. Got to buy those tickets and see if my luck continues.
