Nah, it’s just a MAJOR. But other than that, yeah, just a exhibition to fill in the schedule heading north out of Florida.

The Open Championship Tour Championship PGA Championship Ryder cup/Presidents cup. I was trying to see how many of these I could fill in from the top of my head. I got stuck 'cause I couldn't remember how the PGA championship and tour championship were rescheduled. And hurricane season runs from June through November.

My Driver Is Cracked?
Missouri Swede replied to ChetlovesMer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
FedEx recently gave a package for me a bit of a tour. Ontario Canada Feb 24, to Michigan Feb 26, arrived in Kansas City March 1 (two hour drive from me), to Sacramento CA March 2, to Colorado March 4, Kansas City area (again) March 5, delivered March 6. I didn't order any priority shipping--just the lowest rate, and it wasn't particularly urgent for me, but when I saw it was being shipped away from me, I was wondering if it would end up lost. -

It’s not just the putter face. If I don’t use my putter cover, the putter head can rotate and ding the shafts of other clubs.

Usually don’t pull it. With wind over 30 mph today, pulled it a couple times when I was close enough that the oscillation of the flagstick and the sound of the flag were distracting.

Charley Hoffman Bitches About the Rules of Golf
Missouri Swede replied to iacas's topic in Tour Talk
Well, if this golf thing isn't working out for him, we can probably rule out grammarian as an alternative career path. -
I pay more for my landline than I do for my cell phone. I think I understand this part of it. I've come to realize that I don't really have any "my time" any more, and probably won't until I retire/resign. (Yeah, there are times in the day or week I don't expected to be needed, but I've had plenty of times when I'm supposed to be off and then something comes up.) I'm old enough to remember when I had to leave a "number to be reached at" by landline. Cell phones changed that for the better: I can be reached almost everywhere through one phone number. And cell phones changed that for the worse: I can be reached almost everywhere, so instantaneous availability becomes assumed. The question in the poll is really a two-part question, although not phrased as such. A lot of the answers assume it's a smartphone, not just a flip-phone I had 15 years ago. So could I live without a cell phone--just for the ability to be contacted around town and around the country? And could I live without a smartphone? For both, yeah. I did it before, I could do it again. (Have a tornado blow through town and wipe out the cellular towers; you make do for at least a few days.) But would I want to? Nah.

I usually walk. I have found slow rounds make a bigger difference as I have aged. I can easily walk my course, when it's a steady stroll. Finish feeling pretty good. But add on an hour or more of extra time of standing around and I can tell the difference by the 13th or 14th hole. I'm beat. Same distance, but the extra time spent standing on every shot is noticeable. The other thing to consider is sunset. There are groups who are slower who will finish before twilight. But the 3 or 4 groups behind them might not (but should have been able to).

His question is valid. Ideally, we want something highly contagious with zero morbidity and mortality. Unfortunately, omicron won't be zero. From the CDC four days ago (bold added by me for emphasis):

The opposite. CDC recommendation is at least 6 months after completing the initial series of two (if Pfizer or Moderna), or at least 2 months after receiving the J&J. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/booster-shot.html?s_cid=11705:when to get the covid booster:sem.ga:p:RG:GM:gen:PTN:FY22

Snell Golf Ball Deal
Missouri Swede replied to jsgolfer's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
My bad timing continues. I just placed an order last weekend. Can't feel too bad, though. The balls had been out of stock, just came in, great price, prompt shipping and are now in the bag to play this afternoon. Edit: My wife says "buy more." -

Upgrade Older MacBook Pro to Monterey?
Missouri Swede replied to Missouri Swede's topic in Geek Zone
Just curious. I don't need it on our two MBPs, other than keeping the same OS on everything (we've got a more recent iMac I'll move up to Monterey, probably). I figure that at some point they have to consider older models as no longer supported (7 years on our two MBPs is great--longest lasting laptops I've ever had); just didn't know the reasoning. Aside from their financial incentive to nudge me to getting a newer computer if I want to keep current, I thought there might be a hardware restriction they have to account for (processors, etc.). -
My daily driver is my mid-2014 MBP. It's running Big Sur just fine. I knew that Monterey was coming out at some point, but didn't pay too much attention. I saw this weekend that it was released a couple of weeks ago. Checked for updates on my computer--none available; checked online and my MBP isn't upgradable to Monterey. Okay, no big deal. So then I was messing around in the virtual machines on my computer (through Parallels), and opened up macOS Mojave. For fun, checked on Software Updates in Mojave, and Apple offers me an upgrade from Mojave to Monterey. Hmm. So it appears that my computer can run Monterey, but just not as its main OS. So how/why do they decide what years to cut off the upgrades for? Not sure it matters much; just curious. (My MPB and identical for my wife are running fine, so I don't need to see a reason to replace them just to be able to move to Monterey.)

Hole 15. Thought for sure I'd birdied this one earlier this year, but looks like I didn't. That makes ten holes for the year.
