  1. While there is some truth to this, I also think having a good set of seasoned commentators can be nice as well. I say that having listened to Vin Scully for 30 some years, and tbh I'd love to hear Ken Venturi again.
  2. Kirkland FTW https://www.costco.com/kirkland-signature-3-piece-v2.0-urethane-cover-golf-ball%2c-2-dozen.product.100695987.html
  3. I'm going to echo the sentiments shared thus far and say the problem is your husband and not golf. I took golf up years ago at my wife's suggestion. After years of mentioning that she might enjoy it, she now plays golf with me from time to time. I still golf by myself, and its not an issue as I'm sensitive to the fact that she likes having me around (i.e. I dont turn a round of golf into a full day event). Good luck to you!
  4. Added two more pars on Tuesday. Had some looks at birdie, but could not convert. Hoping to post some negative numbers soon!
  5. I'll take hole in one every time. I've had bad rounds and they are frustrating, but I've never had a hole in 1, so easy choice for me.
  6. I carry my 718 AP3 P, a 718AP3 48 degree, a vokey 52 degree, an vokey 60 degree, and a POS 56 degree for rocky bunkers. Seems like a lot of wedges, but they do come in handy...
  7. Never have don't think I ever will. Had quite possibly my worst round of golf EVER yesterday and still managed to finish. Quitting seems like the wrong answer, assuming the bad play is not due to some type of injury. If you're hurt, quitting is obviously a viable option, but if you're fit to continue, find something to work on, even if it's only mental discipline.
  8. Not an iron, but grabbed the wrong hybrid....covers for the two (21 and 25 degrees) are clearly marked, but the covers got switched (???)....Teed off on a par three and flew the green. I was super confused until I looked at the bottom of the club and discovered I hit the 21 and not the 25. Will forever check the club before hitting....
  9. In for Pars. using my 'home' course where I play a weekly mens league (9 holes each Tuesday night). Course is Par 71, rated 69.6/127 from Combo tees.
  10. Ugh.52 69.6/127Two pars, 5 doubles, a triple and a quad. 22 putts. Can't seem to put together a decent round on my new 'home' course. Thinking it is time for a lesson.
  11. The Cam Smith, Scottie Scheffler green ‘incident’ in Memphis isn’t what people think it is This morning, Twitter erupted at a supposed slight from Scottie Scheffler to Cameron Smith. In the video , Scheffler walks in Smith’s line of sight while he is reading a putt, which prompts Smith to look quizzically at the current...
  12. Milwauke Inkzall. They are great!
  13. Started playing a Tuesday night men's league...Shot a 52 on a par 36. Driver was not working, and pretty sure I heard the shaft breaking on my last drive....Just a bad round (not to mention we were stuck behind a group playing a 2:45 pace for 9 holes). I did get a good pic of the course after the round...
  14. Lets See....There was Goose Creek, Morongo (Tukwet Canyon), Eagles Nest, and Oak Quarry.
  15. 3wd; 21 Ëš, 25Ëš hybrids
  16. Good call. Put me down for 'Broke 100 and Broke 90'. Apparently stupid monkey fits too 😛
  17. I was a TST outing participant....Multiple iirc....
  18. I've had a set of sketchers that I've been using for a couple of years and absolutely loved them. Just picked up a new set from Costco, and not entirely sold on them yet....Newer spiked sole is leading me to believe that they wont be as comfortable for walking, but to early to say just yet. I've worn FJ in the past, but the sketchers were SO comfortable that I haven't looked back...
  19. Just finished watching Tiger's 'My Game' series and he quite explicitly talks about angles, and specifically at Augusta. To your point, I would agree that with the length and skill of today's players, that they can get away with disregarding 'angles' and play point to point, but I believe that skilled golfers still use the idea, and that specific tracks still require it.

  21. See below. That was Harris making the swings, but probably CGI for the ball. I was watching his swings and saw him playing a fade, but the ball came in as a draw every time 🙄 ‘Westworld’ Star Ed Harris Discusses William’s Season 4 Predicament and How Much He Enjoyed That Golf Scene The Oscar-nominated actor has played the role of the sadistic park owner and routine guest since the premiere episode of the HBO series.
  22. @Shindig thanks for the invite, but this month is already booked up for me. Hopefully I'll be up for the Fall or Winter outing....
  23. Bump. I'm a tentative yes. 90% i can make it, but need to confirm later in the month....
  24. Toughest would be Eagle Glen, where we played the SoCal Fall outing (72, 71.6, 134, 6510) Easiest would be Newport Beach golf course, which is a dirty little executive course (59, 54.7, 81, 3216)
  25. I had a great time...big thanks to Tristan and Barret for patiently waiti g for me to duff another shot...I must say, its always a pleasure playing with Sandtrap members, doubly so when I get to watch a 0 handicap go 1-under through nine....So thats how you're supposed to do it, huh?
