  1. I could see the rule changing after a few years if this happened. I think the only way it would change right away if a few of the big names do it. Imaging if McIlroy, Poulter, Garcia and Rose all dropped their playing rights the team would not be as strong and Europe would have no change against America's best. Something would need to be done. I can't see that happening mind, and I don't think any of them would actually give up their membership but maybe the European tour should look at doing something with the required amount of starts.
  2. Great to see Matt win, great talent and will win quite a few more.
  3. Thanks @mvmac, I'll give it a look over and get working on it.
  4. Should be should be an interesting last day. Some good matches there.
  5. @mvmac and everyone else. Been working hard with mirror work and swings in the house. Managed to get out today on the course. To me things look better a lot less head movement. Iron shots much better and what seems like about a club more distance, it was a cold wet morning too so not getting much run. Only managed to get one video but as things went on it was feeling better. what would be the next thing to start working on?
  6. If you want to improve then challenge yourself. If you just play for fun and don't keep a handicap then play what you feel comfortable with. At the end of the day its a hobby not a job. For me I'd like to improve so I would play further back.
  7. I try not to think about a target number when I'm out. Mainly because I know if I start well I think I have a chance to get there and always find a hole or two that blows up and miss the target. I'd rather just go out and play each hole the best I can on that day and take it from there.
  8. Been down at Carnoustie the last two days. Been great weather and even better golf. Kingsbarns tomorrow, it's my favourite of the three. Hopefully be some more good golf.
  9. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has a good resistance band work out for golf. I've got a good way to warm up with one but looking for one to increase overall fitness, flexibility, strength etc. Thanks
  10. Have a pocket size rule book in the bag. Had to use it a couple of times in comes this year. Just use it to look up rules when going between shots. Not holding up play in anyway, we have just kept a track of the shots played and then adjust score when finding the ruling.
  11. Staying in Dundee as its cheaper, Waiting for the draw to come out to see what courses to go to each day. Will go to all 3 though, more likely to go to either Carnoustie or Kingsbarns twice as we are going up tomorrow and will likely spend the afternoon at St Andrews. Will be the 3rd year running that we have gone, its a great event to go to as you get closer to the action with there being less crowds until the last day. St Andrews is my favourite place in the world, going check out Old and Young Tom's graves tomorrow as well, never had the chance to go before.
  12. Yes we are certainly spoilt for choice in these parts. We are planning to get a trip away next year so will likely head in that direction. Heading there tomorrow in fact for the Dunhill Links, unfortunately the Mrs doesn't like to play otherwise the clubs would be coming with us.
  13. Yeah I know, What I meant was that Jason would be the internationals top player on the team. Sorry I worded it wrong.
  14. I use video from time to time but only to check the things I have been working on are going in the right direction. I also like to record when I'm having bad days so I can compare to good days and see what is off when its bad.
  15. Ryder cup has more meaning as it has been going for longer. Pres cup has been a bit on sided so far, but that's how the Ryder cup was back in the day. Give it a few years and a few more international victories and there might be more passion for it.
  16. Jordan for sure. I think Jason has had his run for this year. A great run at that but seems to have just fallen off at the Tour championship, maybe the expectation got to him? I think the same will happen that the Pres Cup. He will be the worlds top player for a change and people will expect full amount of points from him in how ever many matches he plays. The world team is stronger this year so I say get them out first match in the singles and make their point matter instead of it being the last point when the cup might already be won.
  17. Can understand why he's doing it. It's a shame though as he is a good player and one that I would say could contend with Europe's best to get in the team.
  18. Being in Scotland it is generally cold most of the time. I know guys that have put the clubs away at the end of August and won't get them out until start of April next year but I just don't get that. I'll play all year if I can, the only time I don't go out if its snowing or really frozen ground, even then if I can hit the practice area then I will. The good thing about only being an hour away from the coast is me and my buddy can take a drive up to east Lothian and play some great links courses and a much cheaper rate. Try to get a couple of outings each winter, generally playing at Gullane or North Berwick.
  19. Nothing better than a good Hogan swing pic. Thanks for sharing.
  20. I'd pick North Berwick West Links. Played it a couple of times and its great fun to play and would love to be a member if I lived closer (Only 1.5hr away at the moment). Of other courses that are generally unobtainable I'd say Kingsbarns, The Old Course, Pebble Beach, Augusta.
  21. Major any day. The money would be nice but I'd rather go down in history than get the money. The FedEx maybe gone 10 years down the line but the majors will always be the majors. It would be the Open I would want to win. A true test of golf.
  22. McIlroy for me. More events to play on European Tour and they are big events at that. The others will still play here and there but I doubt that they will be enough to keep them there. We have seen it in the last few weeks that its changed when none of them have played so if one I playing when the others are not then it will change quickly.
  23. Play most of my golf by myself. Good to get to work on some stuff or think more about the options of the tees etc. It would be nice to get to play with others more, instead of just in comps but the times I can play there is generally no one else around.
  24. Koepka for me if Jim is out. Great all round game and really long of the team. As previously stated getting him in early on the team match play would be good in the long run to get the experience.
  25. Changed the driver last week. Had been playing a Ping G20 regular shaft, switched it out the a Callaway big bertha alpha stiff shaft. Still going through the process of getting the right set up for it but its looking good so far. A few bad shots but that's more me than the club, and when I have caught one it has been great, about 30 yards further carry.
