  1. No John, NO! However, there are plenty of LPGA pros I'd like to see in their underwear...
  2. If you're putting your career, and thus your family's financial well-being on the back burner for golf, you need help. If you're betraying you're wife's trust for a quick nine... nice job, Tiger, I hope your integrity is worth it.
  3. Having a golfing wife has it's ups and downs. Mine started playing with me last summer (good), but then started thinking she should be with me every time I step foot on the course (bad).
  4. Outfit him with equipment that fits him, provide a place for him to go at it, and get out of the way.
  5. When playing against a lower handicapper, match play allows me to compete with them, as blow-up holes are what drives up my handicap so much.
  6. I just go au naturale. I know what ball I'm playing, and I know where I hit it.
  7. $250, including caddy, but a salesman who was trying to get me to use his crappy product paid for it.
  8. My peeve is when someone knocks my missed putt back at me and says "that's good." I usually tell them that if they're going to give me shots, let me place my approach on the green instead of giving me putts, since that's my weak area.
  9. My course has 3 hitting areas on the driving range, which they rotate in order to keep the grass in good shape. There's at least 40 yds difference from the front one to the back one, but the yardage markers aren't adjusted depending on which hitting area is open. Anyone who tries to use a driving range, and range balls, to determine what their distances are should get their head checked.
  10. When you ladies finish this discussion, let's talk about sports bras.
  11. Ring goes on keychain, in the bag with my wallet. I attach my cell holder to the outside of my bag, or put it in the cup holder of the cart if I'm playing lazy golf.
  12. I hit some balls with an old set of blades about a month ago, and to be honest I think playing with them would cost me about 12-15 strokes per 18 holes, if not more. Ain't technology grand?!
  13. Conditions permitting, the earlier the better for me. I play alot of evening golf after work, so it's a refreshing change to go tee off at 630am in the summer. This time of year? Whenever it dries out a little, and it's not too windy is the right time.
  14. Congrats on your decision. Pertaining to golf, joining a club was the best decision I ever made. The CC I belong to doesn't charge members for carts. After reading this thread, I realize that I'm very lucky in that regard. They do, however, charge for range balls (1/2 price). I'd rather have free range balls and pay a cart fee when I choose to ride. As I work with the president of the board, I may have to talk to him about offering that as an option.
  15. A quarter, a tee stuck in the ground, a poker chip, a beer top, an actual ball marker, a leaf, a small rock... I can't remember everything I've used as a ball marker. Most often I stick a tee or my divot tool in the ground.
  16. My home course takes me about 1:15 per 9, walking. I can do a little better in a cart if the fairways are dry enough to drive on.
  17. Do you have any published medical literature to back up this assertion?
  18. My 8yr old started taking lessons this summer, at her request... that's what got me to start playing again after a 7 yr layoff. I take her with me when I play and here's what I've found.... They learn FAST You shouldn't give swing advice, no matter how horrible she may be. Sometimes just riding along is enough. Let her play from the 100 yd marker, and don't count strokes until she wants to. Too much praise is just as bad as not enough, and sounds false. If she'd rather wade through the weeds to look for lost balls, let her. Sometimes she'll want to sit out for a hole or 2, then play the next one. Get her her own clubs, and don't skimp. Kids that age like putting contests. Let her drive the cart, but be ready to hit the brakes! There's nothing more beautiful than watching your own daughter hit a pure shot, or sink a long putt.
  19. Wrong. When a doctor perscribes an anabolic steroid, it is exactly the same compound taken by athletes and bodybuilders. When a doctor prescribes hgh, it is the exact same hgh taken by athletes and bodybuilders. There are PED's that a doc cannot perscribe, but not many.
  20. My bag was a wedding present 10 yrs ago. Since it was it better shape than my old bag, I started carrying it. Now it looks like crap, but all the zippers still work, the straps are still good, and the seams are still together so I'm still carrying it. I may buy myself a new one for Christmas though.
  21. I rarely lose a ball, and I find alot of them. From June until now, I've almost filled up a 3 gallon bucket with found balls. I've got help, though. My 8 yr old daughter often searches for balls while I play, and she's learned where all the good spots are. If I hit a wayward teeshot, she's liable to find it plus 10 more while I take a penalty and finish the hole.
  22. This hole looks NASTY. I'm assuming the white and red tees are to the left?
  23. Depends on the circumstances, like most have stated. If I plan to keep a real score, I play by the rules. Sometimes in a practice round I might hit 5 shots from the same spot if the urge strikes me, though.
  24. The ball tends to roll downhill.
