  1. Since 99% of my tv watching is YouTube videos so is my golf watching. Seems to be mostly British stuff.
  2. When I got to Florida this season (seasons instead of years since the years overlap) one of the guys asked what I had done, said I was about twenty yards longer with my driver. Said that I had a different driver which was true but looking back it’s really the shaft that’s been the difference. It’s similar in principle to the Autoflex in that it’s light weight and also light flex. Since most of my clubs are bought used I have difficulty finding senior shafts most of the time and being old and slow that’s what I need. Bought the Callaway driver, for several years I preferred Ping drivers, because they only had a couple of used drivers with senior shafts in my price range and it’s been probably the best I’ve had. Longer and very forgiving, decent distance even on my mishits and almost always in play. Keep in mind that my swing speed is probably under 70mph.
  3. Was pleased with my round yesterday for a change. Not at the level of most on the forum so probably easier to please. My goal is generally bogey golf and with age that’s beginning to be a struggle. Started with four doubles but managed to right the ship and have my best round of the year, 88, through seventeen rounds. Realistically I won’t get any better but can be more consistent which is now my goal. Will be 80 later this year.
  4. An ace and shooting my age are my main goals along with being able to play. Unfortunately my scores are going up faster than my age so seems to be less likely but will keep trying.
  5. The new Callaway fast driver comes in 10.5 and 12 degree lofts with adjustable hosel, would like to have one but not at the price.
  6. Had a bad round yesterday, can’t come up with reasons but really just played bad. Fortunately I’m old enough to just be happy to still be able to play. Never been good but some rounds are much better than others.
  7. Unfortunately at my level of golf I have one swing for every club. If I try to change much it’s usually a disaster so just do what I can.
  8. Something I’ve been thinking about. I watch a lot of club tests, retired and get up way too early, and there’s something I think in my opinion might be being done wrong. They might pick several drivers, could be something different, and use the same shaft so things will be equal. In my mind a shaft might be good in one club and not in another. Learned the hard way, had my best ever driver at the time, G410, and kept hearing about how great the G425 MAX was. Since I sometimes have trouble finding senior shafts we traded heads and the 410 shaft never seemed to work out in the 425 head for me. Wasn’t as straight or as long so I have moved on. Don’t think everyone was wrong about the G425, just think that combination maybe didn’t work for me.
  9. 19 in NC, 17 in Fl, 1 in six other states for a total of 42. If I didn’t miss any when I made my list. More than I would have thought.
  10. If you’ve been playing over sixty years that means you’re not as young as you used to be, welcome to the club. Most people I play with are 70+ and we all seem to have issues. Couple of the guys have had cancer, heart issues and strokes but still doing the best they can. But not what they used to. Some are where they probably should just play nine holes because at about fifteen they are starting to struggle quite a bit. My scores are creeping up each year, don’t like it but it’s better than sitting in the recliner. Good luck.
  11. Playing over 50 years means that you’re not young anymore and age does make some difference. My scores are creeping up and I’m getting to the point where I’m just happy to still be able to play. We all age differently.

  13. In some cases we have been around long enough not to believe the people in Washington, follow the $$$.
  14. Passport, sure happy I haven't lost anything in NY.
  15. Have two different sets and carry the driver and maybe putter back and forth summer and winter. Most are well over ten years old and work for me. Driver is only a couple of years old, even it is new to me.
