http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=h...iw=779&bih;=380 Wilson ci7's are pretty nice looking. My game has degraded to the point where i cannot play them currently. The ci9s are sexy too.

It's very natural to hit driver as far as it will let you with some semblence of control. Whether or not you max out at 200 yds or 300 yds is defenitely an advantge/disadvantage depending what side of it you're on. Can you still play well being a short hitter? Absolutely. BUT, the pressure you put on not only your long approach game but your short game(pitching, chipping & trying to 1 putt everything to save par or bogey) will be tough to navigate. If that's your absolute max distance from the tee then 1-make sure you're the most accurate player & 2-practice the short game like mad.

Exactly what i had formulating in my mind. This kid taught me a game called 'tee box golf' a couple of years ago involving chipping balls off teeboxes in a sequence. 5 hour rounds suck. Never played a 6 hour round. Got stuck behind the last group of a club championship once at a new course for 5.5 hour round. It was slow, but still enjoyable.

Slayer, Opeth, Entombed. Nice calming easy listening kinda stuff. Decent punk is good too. NOFX, Cramps, Older Bad Religion, Muffintops, Dayglos, etc. This is at the range only. I wouldn't listen to music during a round. There's enough voices in my head as is.

Square to slightly closed. With the amount of left approaches last night i think i'll start fanning it open a bit.

The 'share a personal golf tip' thread
chef35ca replied to 8.5_Drive's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
1-have fun no matter what. enjoy it for what it is. 2-let your hands lead the clubhead especially in chipping. 3-never aim a shot where a straight ball will put you in trouble. read that one years ago in tiger's book when i used to slice. 4-if your front 9 sucked, start drinking. Heck, it can't get worse. 5-no matter what you believe at the range you haven't discovered the secret to the golf swing. there is a reason all great players swing close to the same. -
I definitely work out. Everything from basic cardio, to free weights to repeated bouts of P90x. I'm over 30 now & apparently it's possible to get fat now. Damn metabolism. I've been on a pretty strict diet for about a week now, lots of cardio, lots of ab ripper excercises.

About 15 years. I played a par3 course once in high school. Then i didn't play again until i was 28. Since then, probably not more than 3 days. I hit pitches, chips & flops up the stairs with wiffle balls & my kids hit them back down.

Ha! I hit 7. Holed out for a 21. 7 3wds pulled into a pond. Pulled out the driver & smashed the crap out of it down the fairway. I've still got that card. Kind of a constant reminder to keep my head out of my arse. So i guess my number for 100yds would be 15 strokes.;)

I use everything from a 55* sw to a PW. Usually the stock shot for 100 is a GW at 50* for me. Don't force a shorter club for more distance. That's not their intention & you run the risk of all kinds of mishits. Either practice taking something off a longer club or look into another wedge to cover the gap. I'm guessing you have about 10* between your pw & sw.

5'8 185lbs. Judging by the heights & weights here i must be morbidly obese.

That is messed up. It's amazing her face isn't crushed. Damn funny though.

Already had it happen once & caught the guy in the act. I came out of my backyard with my louisville slugger cocked & i was looking for blood. He ran really fast. I chased him for 3 blocks until he cut across some really nasty gravel that slowed me down(barefoot). He dropped everything in the driveway. I guess his a$$ was more important to him. Wish i'd gotten a clear look at his face. This isn't that big of a town.

Nice thread. Raising children is like professional management. Alaways accentuate the positive. It's ok to point what went wrong but constructively,"Ok, so you know what went wrong. How can we work together to avoid this happening again?" I always try to get my kids to think of a solution first before giving them an easy answer. Same with the kids at work. It works better some days than others, but it's the best method i've come up with. I seem to have lost the instruction booklets for all 3 kids. BTW, my sons are only 2.8 & 4 yrs old. But they are both sharp, stubborn, independent thinkers already. Some of the stuff they come up with just amazes me. I'm looking forward to/terrified of them as teenagers.

Monday night i went out after work & played 6 holes. Into the wind on a 511yd par 5(thin tee shot into the wind left me a loooong ways out) i hit a 170yd 5i & put it within 4 ft. Made the putt too. Hooray! I hit a pair of 1 irons safely off the tee as well on one hole. Around 200yds a piece. Nothing special, just a good confidence builder.

I've found that the times when i'm spending a decent amount of time a week on the short game area it's really translated into the rest of my game. My usual routine is-take 8 balls, toss them randomly & try to pitch, chip, flop them close & make the putt. Over & over. Bare spots, long grass, sidehills, sitting up in bunkers, buried in bunkers, under & behind trees, shortsided, 50 yds of green to work with, & etc. I find that the more i hit these shots the more confident my full swing is. It usually translates to more staright tee balls & better approaches & if not, then i have the confidence to dig my butt out of any on course situation because i've played that shot. Repeatedly. So many people i play with have such a rough time around the greens & 100yds & in. Because they never practice it.

In your head. If i'm swinging well that day, doesn't matter what i hit it off of. If i'm off, nothing will help. I've seen my father in law hit 3i off those giant rubber driver tees at the range with good results.

The rules: 1.Post what you're working on, why, what you hope to accomplish, how you're doing about it, etc. -trying to keep some sembelance of my swing with my extremely limited playing time this past season. I'm working on setup, posture, & making sure i'm getting my weight through the ball. I'm going a bit left now, but plenty long & it's way better than that nasty fall away reverse C thing i had developed. 2.Post when you begin something new, take a new approach, etc.-i'm trying to stay a little more upright over the ball throughout. I had gotten pretty flat. I recorded myself taking some swings for the first time & had to laugh. 3.Don't reply to any posts unless your reply also accomplishes the two things listed above.

LOL...i got a HIO 2 years ago at about 7am. Never saw it go in, had witness with me. Only played 9 that day. Think i chucked up a robust 52. It may be a fluke, but it's my fluke. I've still got the scroecard, ball & a nifty plaque from callaway(used a warbird to hole out with):)

Nah, he just holed out for 5.
